when you carry a laminated copy of the U.S. Constitution in your backpack
when you carry a graphing calculator inside your purse (even on the weekends when you don't have classes)

Kim, this is a spin-off of your nerd/geek thread. ;)

Cheers, Molly!!! :)

I know I'm a nerd-geek because:

1. My favorite clothes are graphic t-shirts with comic/cartoon characters.

2. I'd rather watch sci-fi or action than a chick flick anyday.

3. I can become obsessive about something and ramble on for quite some time, but then get bored and move on. (Latest fascinations: the Winchester Mystery House in CA, original Star Wars interviews with the stars from the REAL first three movies (none of this "Episodes 1, 2, 3" crap), and various theme parks I hope to visit someday.)

4. I'm very protective of my writing supplies!! (I keep them in special envelopes and plastic cases, but no, I don't wear a pocket protector. However, if I found one with a favorite character on it, I'd definitely reconsider.)

5. I recently saw a Lego figure of Harley Quinn and as soon as they make it into a key chain, IT SHALL BE MINE!!

6. My version of "porn" is a fully-illustrated book of all the artwork featured in the Sistine Chapel. No, I'm not oogling the pictures of naked men, nor do I care about them. It's actually kind of embarrassing, especially when I'm flipping through the pages on treadmill at the gym (my only free time to read.) But I'm just really fascinated by life-like paintings and sculpture, and another one of my obsessions is Michelangelo.

(I actually cover the "private parts" with a sheet of paper when I'm reading.) What can I say. I'm a nudity-shy nerd.

Its funny how times have changed... when I was a kid, being called a nerd or a geek was considered an insult. Now everyone wants to be one.. go figure.

When you have four laptops serving various purposes, and what you really need is to buy another laptop.

What?! I'm using them all. One is at church in my office, one is in the sound booth recording sermons, one is my music computer (does NOT get online) and the other is my internet computer. And I really need another laptop for recording music from old records/tapes/8-tracks/whatever I'm trying to preserve the music from.

When your laptop has three USB ports... and two of those ports are connected to 4-port hubs... and you are still short on USB ports.

What?! I have to find SOMEWHERE to plug in my animated USB snowman...

You know you're a nerd when you watch "Planet Earth" and take notes.

I do that because I'll be interested in a specific volcano or a type of leopard and I want to learn more about it.

When you go to the nature centre with bird seed in your pockets and hope the chickadees will eat out of your hand. They actually do, it's so cute.

I don't own one but man, do these look amazing--and more than a little crazy.

Presenting... The 100-Sided Dice.

You also might be an (old) nerd if you used to sit around playing Magic: The Gathering on Friday nights with your then-significant other (and Wizards of the Coast was just becoming a a big deal.)
