You will never hear an FPS (First Person Shooter) main character saying, "Man, why do all the major battles wait for me to show up before they start?" Ever notice? It's so suspicious how the really big action always sits around waiting until the hero comes through, but the hero never notices the coincidences.

While I'm on the topic of RPGs...

"Why are towns so small? I mean there's more people in my immediate family than there are in this "village." Even the capital city of this country doesn't have the population of any small town in Tennessee.

And why are woodland creatures so aggressive here? Walk through the woods between one "town" and another and every animal seems to want to attack you. Isn't that directly contrary to basic survival instinct?

And why do I have to save the world anyway? Who chose me? Don't we have an army for stuff like that?"

Things you will never hear an RPG character saying, because part of their paycheck is for ignoring blatantly obvious discrepancies.
