Ya know, the way I see it, it takes time. Let it unfold in time like a good book. A lot of questions get answered over time just as a matter of spending time together.

So many years ago, I am out with a woman at a bar who was a friend, nothing more, and we start talking to two other woman. So I liked one of them, and after a while, when it closer to when we were going to be leaving, which was about 10 minutes away, I asked her for phone number. So she hesitates, and I am thinking, okay, so she doesn't like me, oh well. Then after about 15 seconds she asks me how long I can hold my breath under water for. I thought that was a really odd question, and I thought about it, and I told her I can recall when I last held my breath, but not underwater. So she says just guess how long I can hold my breath underwater for, that it should be close to the time I can hold my breath without water.
So I say, probably for about a minute and 20 seconds.
Now my friend who I came with is witnessing this conversation.
So the woman I am talking to says it was nice talking to me, but that she didn't see us dating.
So okay, a few more minutes pass, and we keep talking.
Then she tells my friend that she has to go to the bathroom, and my friend takes that as a que that she wants her accompany her. So she does. So my friend come out, and when she gets back to the bar, she says to me, come on Joe, we have to get going.
And she gives me a look. So I knew we had to get going anyway, so I don't think much, although I wondered what the look was for. We say our goodbyes, and when we get out on the street, my friend says that anyone I meet, I better vet with her.
She says I sure know how to pick them. So I say why do you say that?
She said that the the woman that I was talking to, who I asked for her phone number, and who my friend went to the bathroom with is crazy.
I said why do you say that?
She says when they were in the bathroom, she told my friend that she liked me, but makes it a point to not date guys who can't hold their breath underwater for at least 2 minutes because she likes to do, well, you know, with them underwater.
My friend thought she was kidding, but she was dead serious she said.

I am off to take my kids to see the new Jungle Book movie. My hair is combed, and I am shaved, because I took my weekly shower earlier today. This is my 2 day window to look half way presentable. My 2 cute girls are with me, a doting dad. Probably my best chance this month. Maybe I won't scare anyone away, and I'll actually meet someone...;)
