See, I can never think of anything when someone asks me this. "Your birthday's coming up Isaac. What do you want for your birthday?" Um... nothing really. I already have too much stuff, I've bought everything I need and most of the stuff I want, and the stuff I want that I don't have is too expensive to be a present. I doubt my grandmother is going to buy me a new laptop for Christmas. :p I have a great family, all really good people and we like to hang out together but none of us are rich.

So I thought I'd ask y'all here on the forum. What do you say when someone asks you what you would like for your birthday or Christmas?

A house! :p

- Books (I normally specify a book, author or genre).

as I don't have a place of my own, I can't really wish for things that take up much space (like a bookcase, which I will need once I do get my own place)

I don't really value material stuff much, so what I want for my birthday (just 5 days away, I might add!) is to make a friend lol.

money, just money. Okay, maybe to hang out with a few friends that I haven't seen in a couple of years, despite the fact that we live in the same county.

At Christmas, I insist that I don't want any gifts if someone asks. I truly dislike being asked, because I feel like if you'd like to give me something go for it, but don't feel like you have to do it out of social obligation. I typically end up pleasantly surprised with really thoughtful, meaningful gifts...the best kind.

My birthday...my family is notorious for forgetting :D no one ever asks me what I want for my birthday, truthfully. I just appreciate whatever sentiments anyone wants to share.

I absolutely love to celebrate things, and i do love to receive things, but I suppose I prefer the gifter to take the initiative, if it's on their heart to give.

I tell them...Chocolate! No seriously I have told people this.

I'm in the same boat, Lynx. I already have the things I need and the others that I want are too expensive. So if someone wants to give me something (unless they wanna give me cash) I usually tell them sweets. Not the healthiest thing I know but my bday only comes once a year...and so does Christmas.

Oh oh...I forgot! Since I collect toys, sometimes I tell them to get me one of their choosing. I usually receive Barbies and keep them in the box.

In all honesty, I tell people to get me nothing. Birthdays are just another day.. Half the time, I forget my own. A year or two ago I didnt realize it was my bday until my mother text me LOL
