I for one am happy to say that I just cast my vote.

Cute poll, Tink. :)

Thanks for making me smile in the midst of an already very long week.

(Yup, I know it's only Tuesday but when you work the entire holiday weekend...)

Thanks for voting seoul. Here's a secret about work. Its better to be lazy than tired and stressed with too much work. I would always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job because he will always find an easy way to do it. :D

How about after the baby is born? But then it would mean more stupid questions and violent reactions.

Really? So when will you get divorced? JK :p
I totally understand your thinking behind some of the questions in your poll, Tink.

One of the things I'm going through right now, and I've posted a little bit about it before, is that when I was 25 and my husband left me, scores of married people in the church told me I needed to "enjoy my blessed single time with the Lord."

A few years have passed since I was 25, obviously. And now I'm finding out that some of these married people who told me I was "just a baby" and should enjoy all this glorious time alone with God... are single themselves.

And getting married again in less than a year.

I want to ask them all, "What about all your splendid alone time that you could have with God?"

"And why is it that your advice was good enough to patronize me with... But yet you aren't choosing to follow it yourself?"

Yeah we really don't know what we are saying sometimes. Sometimes I just get tired of the married people I know who tend to consider themselves better people than singles. Sometimes I get tempted to say to them don't worry you will get divorced soon. They think they know better than me on how to live my life.

ANSWER A: I used to get irritated when I was at a wedding and these little old ladies would pinch my cheek and cackle, "You're next!" But they stopped doing that when I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

ANSWER B: Well... I guess I'll get married when I find someone to marry. Say, what are you doing this Saturday night?

At this point I don't know if when will you get married is such a horrible question, but then I lived for three years in a place where people asked when I planned to get married as if getting married were such an important thing that you planned to do it and then just kind of chose your best available option so you wouldn't be single anymore. I never did understand why they thought being single or even just spending time by yourself was such a horrible unbearable thing.

By a strange coincidence the people at work were talking about this just yesterday. Once again I was asked why I had never been married, and once again I had to explain that I am not terrified of being alone, and once again I tried to explain how marriage is for me a means to an end and not an end in and of itself, and once again I had to tell them I would go on dates and maybe eventually get married IF I met a lady I wanted to date and maybe marry...

...And once again they just didn't get it. Maybe it would be easier to say "I just don't like girls" and let them go their way. It would be a lie but at least I would have some peace and quiet.

For the record I voted 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10. They all fit what I think when someone asks that.

I never ask people that question because it is none of my business. Due to the fact that there is a thread on this matter makes me believe a whole mess of folks don't agree with me...

No, a whole mess of people have got tired of being asked the question so they are blowing off steam in a satirical thread about the question.
