Hey Everyone,
I was taking out the trash yesterday and thinking about what a beautiful morning it was.
Throughout my life, I've always been a natural morning person. When my schedule allows it, I like to get up and go for walks while it's still dark, just so I can watch the sunrise. Witnessing this transition always helps me clear my head (I love sunsets, too, but sunrises have always been my favorite.)
As I walked back inside the house, I was thinking of how wonderful it would be to have someone (specifically, a significant other) to go walking with in the early mornings and talk with.
And then... I actually THOUGHT about it.
Um... Really. How many people would want to get up at 5 in the morning on their days off, just to go walking??? (Just for kicks... Let's see a show of hands... "Bueller? Beuller?")
What's that??? Do I hear an entire chorus of crickets chirping??!
Yup, I thought so. I'm seriously thinking that I can cross "Gets Up Before the Butt Crack of Dawn to Go Walking" off my list of potential things I'd like to find in someone!!! I mean, sure, maybe... But. Very. Unlikely.
As singles, I often think we often daydream a little too much... and usually overestimate what we will find in someone.
What are some expectations you have in a significant other that you know are probably unrealistic? Are they things you feel you can do without? Feel free to list both serious and frivolous answers... Whatever strikes your mood.
And marrieds--please feel free to tell us about some things you thought you would find in your potential spouse--and then tell us what you got instead, and how it works out.
Maybe our married friends can help shock some of us singles back into reality!
