My favorite holiday is coming up. It's Halloween. So naturally, spooky stories is a thing. If you have any fun spooky stories, or maybe something you just couldn't quite explain and you want to share, feel free to do so.

One night I get up, it was this night lol, around 3am and get ready for the the gym. Near my house is this little neighborhood park; it has like a swing set, two slides, and a couple of benches... nothing special. Anyway, as soon as I step outside, I see something. It's not in the park, but on the street right next to it. I think I see wheels, so I'm assuming someone left their bike or maybe someone's sitting in the park... I don't know.

Normally I wouldn't think anything of it, but it's actually really foggy outside, so I can barely make out anything, and as we all know fog at night is just a little creepy lol. It also didn't help that I had just been watching this ghost skit/series by a certain YouTuber the night before lol. So I walk out to my car, get in, etc. and I decide to drive over and see what it is. It wasn't a bike. It was this tiny wheelchair. Like, made for a kid. Why would that be sitting there in the fog at this hour? I don't know. So I drive around the park and there is literally nobody there.

I get back home like a little over an hour later and dun dun dun... it's still there. 0777.png

Well several Halloween's ago now, I had a job that was basically going around to residential properties in the country and verifying the measurement information on the property record cards. So I get to this one property that's a bit remote and rural and the owner apparently had a thing for decorating with pentegrams, including a massive one on the side of the barn. So I knock on the door and do my little hi, I'm here to confirm the records schpeel and start measuring around the buildings, and someone comes to visit the place and parks me in the driveway while I'm busy measuring. and after that...........

absolutely nothing remarkable or scary happened. By the time I was done measuring the guy who had parked me in had already left and I just continued on to the next property, but a combination of an over active imagination and too many Halloween horror stories told in church certainly gave me a good adrenaline shot that day.

Once upon a time...

I had in-laws.

Yup.

That's about as spooky as it gets.

(For both me... and for them...)

I had a dream once (well I hope it was a dream.... I cannot remember waking up after it happened like you normally do with dreams....)

I opened my eyes and looked up, and was looking straight at a young boy. He was standing right next to my bed staring at me.

That on it's own is weird enuff, but that there was a huge one on the side of a barn... I'm out. lol

Wait! Oh no! Just as we get to the exciting part and the music builds up to a tense crescendo.... a commercial? Seriously?

I remember hearing a not so spooky story when I was a kid, told by one of my aunts. Apparently one of my great uncles (her dad) had spent part of his day at his brothers home across town. It was a Saturday so he stayed on drinking beer after beer until very late in the night. After 11pm he decides to go home. Naturally his brother tried to persuade him to spend the night, but he was adamant that he wanted to go home. So his brother called him a cab.

It had been raining for some hours that evening, so he puts on his jacket and his hat and heads outside before the cab shows up. So he is already standing in the dark, outside the gate, by the time the taxi arrives. He hopes into the back and gives the driver directions, covers his face with his hat and nods off to sleep. A while late he notices that he is getting near his home. He starts giving turn by turn directions to the driver. Now all this time the driver had been trying to make conversation and his efforts are met by silence.

"Driver turn left at the next corner" then "Driver, turn right" and this goes on. His hat is still covering most of his face so the driver hasn't really seen him. Remember the man is still pretty drunk. He had been issuing instructions in a slow monotone. At some point he calls out "Driver! Turn into this gateway. Now there was a small cemetery not too far from where he lived and he had just instructed the driver to stop at its gate! The drivers lights illuminate some tombstones in the distance and he screams and vacates the vehicle and runs down the road. The old man gets out and walks home.

I work for a church, and I'm often there at night by myself. I love it. I love walking through the dark halls at night, seeing the building all empty and peaceful. The rest of the staff avoid being there alone at night. There are strange noises, they say. Weird things. I find it sad though. They are missing out on such awesome quiet times with God. :)

Anyway, one night I was up there kinda late with my daughter, wrapping up some finishing touches for a program we were prepping for. No one else was there, and the church was locked from the inside. We were ready to leave, and met at the back door to set the alarm before slipping out.

Now, our alarm system lists each door in the building, and has a light panel that lights that door up when it opens, and shuts the light off when the door closes again. This is to prevent anyone from setting the alarm while there's someone else in the building, or while a door is not fully closed.

As I was standing there getting ready to punch the alarm code in, I saw the light come on for one of the inside doors. It was on for a bit and then turned off. I was still pondering on this when, a few seconds later, another light came on a bit further down the hall, and shut off again, as if someone had walked through one door, come closer down the hall, and walked through a second door. But no one was there.

My daughter and I just stared at the panel, our ears straining in the dark. No other doors opened, and we didn't wait around very long before setting the alarm and high-tailing it out the back door. I still like going to the church at night to work by myself, but my daughter refuses to come with me now.

About 15 years ago my Mom and I were driving to my apartment. I lived in a smallish college town at the time. A lot of Farms and a man made lake. It would often get foggy in the morning and the evening. I was driving a long on This foggy evening not speeding just following the line of cars. When all of a sudden a horses head pops out from the side of the road. My Mom and I both screamed. Then I asked, what the hell was that about? I think someone's horse got loose. I called the state police to let them know.

I felt like I was in a Godfather movie and I had an enemy.

Me and a friend of mine, Lonnie, drove out to Center Hill lake and fished all night. We didn't have a boat and just brought a couple of lanterns and fished off the rip rap at an overpass. Didn't catch much and after a few hours we decided to camp out somewhere till light.

We had parked off the side of the road at the bridge and got back in my truck and wandered down the road about a quarter a mile when Lonnie saw a dirt trail to turn down. The trail turned from dirt to tall grass with tire ruts further down. The grass was hitting the undercarriage of the truck sounding like whispers. Like secrets discussed from further down.

We rounded a bend when my headlights briefly scanned an old house. The house was dilapidated with siding missing or coming loose and windows broken. The front door was off the hinges and laying up against a porch column. The land in front had old remnants of a stone patchwork walkway and the grass was oddly bent over like animals or something had bedded down in places. Lonnie says "Good a place as any, I guess" and we both grabbed our stuff and I lit a lantern and we both walked up the patchwork to the porch.

Old abandoned houses in the witching hour of the night have a way of making this shudder or that groan and the whispers became almost intelligible from the night breeze, but walking up to the house and reaching the porch and hearing steps in an odd, almost skip behind sound that would stop just after we stopped and begin again right after we took another step was more than a night breeze. It was like one of those movies when the sound is just behind the actor's mouth making the whole story impossible to follow.

I went inside first thinking I'd see sheets covering furniture and old candelabras but instead it was all empty and the foot steps stopped as I stood still. I turned around and Lonnie was at the door and I could see him watchin the crazy shadows from the lantern dancing their hideous jive behind me. "Believe I'll sleep in the truck" I said and Lonnie laughed and told me how right I had that as we walked back to the truck. Once in and feeling better we tried making things as comfortable as possible when we both heard a new sound. This was a deep but resigned sound followed by a windy sigh. A mildly irritated but stern command as if this came from the hollow shuffle of the house itself, slightly echoed and broadcast out the broken windows. It was a sound that meant business and we both heard it. It said.... "Leave".

Lonnie and I both felt that whatever it was asked nicely and we promptly left. The grass slid under the truck as we drove away making no sound at all....

Have u ever seen "The Changeling" starring George C. Scott? If u did u would've been too spooked to approach that child wheelchair. It was one of the best ghost story movies ever...

I used to work in a hospital. There was this floor where patient room doors would open and close without anyone else there. Especially when the floor was not open.

Ok, this is probably the spookiest story that I can actually tell on here that happened lol

This was like five years ago. There's a little room attached to the kitchen, where the table is and there is a bench that goes along the back walls(the little room is shaped like an octagan). Anyway, I used to stay up late on my laptop and would usually end up falling asleep on the bench seats.

So of course, one night that happens. I had my laptop there and it was plugged in and everything. I don't know exactly when I fell asleep, but I guess I was dreaming and I specifically remember that I felt this black figure standing over me, and as soon as it happened, I immediately woke up and sat up lol. I'm looking around, of course nothing is there... I look at the time and it was around midnight.

I guess it was just a weird dream; it happens. But then I look over and notice that the charger has been unplugged from my laptop. That can't be right. I didn't unplug it. So now I'm doing what you do, I've got my weapon and I'm looking behind doors, and curtains, and shower curtains XD. Nothing. Everything was locked from the inside. I make my way over to the other side of the house. I see a light on that was not previously on. I walk into that room. The tv(previously left on) is turned off and a sofa cushion has been pulled out lol. So, I know something is weird. But, like I said everything was locked.

To this day Idk what happened. There is no logical explanation for it. lol
