Don't know what I'm good at. I'm Mr. Average who is nice and can be funny if around me long enough. So you can say I'm versatile but not extraordinary. Nothing athletic though.
What are you good at?

Can you write good and effective posts?

Value what God values about you. People who love and appreciate quality will not reject you. If you're rejected, you just dodged a worthless connection..

I had to find out why I was valuable. Before, I was a mess of every kind.
Unshakable confidence came once I knew what matters for real.

Repeat this to yourself daily......"No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you"
Isaiah 54:17 NIV

The enemy is out to seek, kill and destroy and once to take charge and declare the enemy has no hold on you and your life you will see yourself in a new light and in the way God created you to be. I also have slips of paper scattered tastefully in my room of his promises and God will fulfill his promise in your life as long as you are obedient

When one is shy and has fear of rejection?

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me ph 4;13. So I wouldn't aim to have SELF confidence, but God confidence.

To answer your question in part, I would definitely spend time in the word...every. single. day. I also usually take a 30 minute prayer walk with God every evening. The fruits of the spirit (kindness, gentleness, less afraid etc..) have been a whole lot more pronounced in me as of late because I spend time renewing my mind - "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will" Rom 12:2.

It fades over time if you begin to put yourself in social situations or events where you have to interact with people. Think along the lines of work, church group, volunteering, community stuff. Just DO THINGS.

Depends what you are building self confidence about. What are you attempting for which you need the self confidence?

If it's something like singing, do it alone where you are certain nobody will observe. Singing around people when you have no self confidence will make weak singing (same applies for almost everything you're bashful about, not just singing) and the weak singing will make you even more shy about it. Doing something by yourself when you're certain nobody is about will help you be more confident in your ability.

Now if it's talking to people you need more self confidence in... well, there's only one remedy for not knowing how to swim, and that's to get out and start trying to swim. ;)

May I ask, are you a psychologists? I mean self confidence ?

I am now self confident that my feet will follow the steps without me looking down. Is that the kind of self-confident you mean-?

just asking, trying to generate a little conversation.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.

.,.,.,remedy for not knowing how to swim, and that's to get out and start trying to swim. ;)[/QUOTE]

I ain't no sykolojist, I'm a lynx. :p And the thread title specified the question dealt with building self confidence. Ask the OP why the topic was set to self confidence.

This is the question I've been faced with since around 2005 when I went through a years long bout of severe untreated depression. I'm over the depression now and that's how I came to find Jesus, but with me this confidence thing is not about shyness or fear of rejection, it's more about feeling very self-conscious about everything I do and say and how I look.... and a constant feeling of inadequacy because of my lot in life and wondering why I'm even here when I have nothing to live for, no more hope for dreams unless I win the lottery or something...

Trump may not even realize this but now that he “is” President Of The United States his background will surely be “investigated”/"Scrutinized" for his safety. hehe

just to make sure there are no shadows in the hallways.

The first place to start is the gospel of Jesus Christ. He died for you. How special and loved do you already feel? On that alone, knowing how much God loves me that He had His only Son die for me on the cross makes me feel awesome. I feel best about myself when I look at myself through the eyes of God not the world.

Next thing: God put you here for a reason, that is to do His will for your life. It means He gave you special qualities and attributes that He has given no other soul on earth. With all these things you are to get to work doing His will, ultimately to glorify His Name and therefore bring your fellow brother or sister to Christ.

Get busy developing a relationship with the Lord and learning what He wants you to do with your life, this will put you in leaps and bounds ahead in the self confidence stakes and your battle against any self doubt from the enemy. God speed!
