We, as true christians , don't go to church we ARE the church so when we gather together whether it's a large community or a smaller congregation,...we are still the church.. We should never gather merely for what we can get out of being there...discipleship etc.. but more for what we can give...support, exhortation, encouragement, reproof etc...
There are fakes in every walk of life...and even yes, that walk among us in the body of Christ...however like my pastor says and I agree with him...we are called to love one another....unconditionally.. ihow can you want to live with other believers in heaven if you can't deal with spending time with them here? ...you don't have to fellowship closely with someone you think isn't living for God however, ...and isn't sincere in the body..but not attending so that you can be a light and a help and serve your fellow christ followers is throwing the baby out with the bathwater..

Anyway.. I don't always like everything my authority in church does however, I love them and respect them and feel that they are good shepherds over their flock... and since I trust GOD and not man... I trust Him with them over me and our body..
oh and just so you know..we don't "find God" He isn't lost we are.. :) HE finds us.. :)

prayers for you!

I'm looking to see if there are any Christians who have the same faith as me...because looking through these threads I haven't found anyone.
So here goes:
I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and I believe we are all born into sin, and totally corrupted and a slave to it, unless we reach out to Christ and are saved by grace, not works.

I don't go to church. I totally believe almost all churches, unless they are like small home gatherings, have been corrupted and taken over by pretenders who enjoy the power of leading a group and being able to manipulate these people. I don't believe any true christian goes to church or continues to go to one. They are devoid of Grace. Either you eventually leave, or you lose your faith in order to continue. The early churches were formed as small house gatherings, to read letters from those chosen to write gods word (such as the apostles and Paul etc). In those days there was not a printing press, so it wasn't possible to read gods word on your own. Now it is, so we don't need to go to a church building to be lectured as if we can't read or buy a bible. I also believe the most toxic person is a fake Christian, and we need to avoid them like the plague. Everyone else, other non-christians are find to be friends with on a light level. True Christians are a breath of fresh air.

I never read 'Christian books', those self help style ones devoid of grace that attempt to explain the bible and how it helps us in modern times, as if we don't even have the spirit of God to translate his word for us. They are actually a good indication of a fake Christian, those who read them a lot or continue to read them.

I love reading the bible, at least once per day, and these days as I am going through a trial I read it multiple times. The word is alive to me, it breathes, almost dances on the page it's incredible, so full of grace. And even when I don't read anything specific to my situations, I still feel more peace afterwards and can do more in my day than I could have without it.

When I read the bible, it confirms what I have found in Christ....it doesn't teach me in the way most books teach rules and things to do. It confirms the grace I have received. I never read the bible before I knew god, I don't believe people really find God through reading it specifically, I think they first have to find God, and then the bible confirms in their hearts what they have received. I also don't think people find god through proving his existence, you have to actually want to do his will, and give up your own. You also have to be willing to see you are a sinner, and need saving.

Because the lgbt thing is so big right now, and it is seen as such a loving thing to embrace it (and now is the in thing for fake christians to use as a way to make them look like nice people), I should clarify I do believe that the sexual acts between two men or two women, are sin, and as we are all born into sin I believe gays are born with that tendency, just as we are all born with different sinful tendencies. I certainly don't discriminate against these people though, we should treat them as we do any other person. They are no worse than anyone else or me in fact.

I have never met anyone outside my family who have become Christians. I have met plenty of fakes, and had several guys pretend to become one to try and get me to marry them. It is a lonely world for a Christian, we a re few and far between, but I am truly blessed both my parents and two sisters now (not my brother, yet) actually know god and have the spirit. I am truly blessed they aren't fake christians who would attack my faith.

Anyway, there is more I am sure, but if you can relate to what I have said above, let me know! I'd love to hear from you and perhaps you want to hear from me.
Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and I don't give one hoot whether I or anyone else fails to meet your standards. Jesus meets us at the foot of the Cross and at the Empty Tomb. That's good enough for Him therefore it's good enough for me.

In the beginning was the Word and the word was WITH GOD and the WORD WAS GOD...

His word is Him... while I agree that many people come to God and are called without having heard His word as yet....you cannot exist as a follower without turning to that Word.
You cannot know God without knowing His word.. you can HEAR of God, you can hear Him call you and you can go to Him ....you can even follow Him..
however... we hear from 3 different voices inside ourselves.. our own flesh, the enemy's lies and the Lord.
You must read and know His word to know what voice is really talking.
I know you say you read his word daily..and more so if you go through trials..but tell me, do you not read the portions that talk about gathering with other believers? obeying authority? that the body is not complete without all parts?
do you not know if you are a true Christ follower that you are part of the whole body?
I agree with what many here are saying..that it doesn't matter if you gather with 100 possible christians or 15...there can always be deception if you are not aware...

Our church is open to all... Jesus said come ALL who are weary and heavy laden...but He also warns that there will be false followers among us.....including in the small groups..
The issue here isn't with the church..or the groups you have been involved in..the issue is with your own perception of what you know...
the thing is.. the more you get to kknow our Father, the less you find you really do know in and of yourself..
.
peace.

Don't pay attention to tintin.. He likes to put women down and argue like an unsaved girl.. loves to point out flaws yet claim to hate the Holier type..
Pot, meet Kettle.

Tintin has more Christ-like attributes in his left thumb nail than what you've displayed so far on CC. Keep sharing the hate.

That is both untrue and uncalled for. Tintin is one of the most gracious and well respected members around singles. He just hates crap theology. Calling out the OP for her inconsistency and ridiculous assumptions about who is or is not a real christian is simply good discussion and helping people think things through.
Agreed Cinder...WELL said. I have not had much one on one interaction with Tintin but everything I've seen of him could never be described as above.

Maybe it's because I haven't read ALL of HH's posts, but I never thought that she would accuse Tintin of sexism against women (or even worse misogyny). Guess I need to pay more attention, huh?

Church is important. Unfortunately people dont understand what church is. The church is the people of God. Your brethren. And it is very important that you seek to be apart of a church. Not the building but the ppl. You are to help encourage each other and rebuke each other in love. That is important. I feel you are correct about most churches being corrupt. Most are about self help and prosperity. If you would single these churches out, your statement would have more truth to it. By basically throwing all churches in this category you make yourself sound ignorant. By saying you dont believe any true Christian go to church makes you sound more ignorant. Sometimes real Christians could be apart of a bad church to shine a light in it. What better place for a doctor to be than amongst the sick? That is for people who really know God and is rooted in their faith. For new Christians they may stay in bad churches out of lack of knowledge, but when they truly seek God he will deliver them from such a place. It may take time though.

As far as books, again you sound ignorant to say all books are bad just because you have found none good. I to agree that most of these books are bad, but true men/women have walked this earth since beginning of time, and they have wriiten books. Try books written in the 1600's or 1800's. Charles Spurgeon is a good starting place. Madame Guyon is another true person of God.

All of your statements seem to come from experience. So no matter how misguided they are I cant say anything bad about that. You are staying true to what you believe. Just got to get more truth and real facts in it lol ;) With time you will understand more. Continue seeking as you have been. Forgive me if ive offended you.

I'm very sorry that you have been so sheltered in your life that you haven't met one single Christian who's not related to you. That will make dating and marriage a challenge for sure!!

I do believe that being a Christian has nothing to do with attending a specific building belonging to a specific denomination every time the doors are open. I also believe there are a lot of fake Christians....who knows I may be one of them. I doubt that because my heart is the only heart I truly know to be able to judge it. I can judge other people's works, but not their hearts, so one day I will meet many people as surprised to meet me in Heaven as I am to meet them.

Other than that....... why would you want to meet others who believe exactly like you do.....don't you like being an individual? It's the unique differences within us that fulfills. Oh well though. It's your life to lead not mine....
Peace!!

What a pharisee! you judge others after God said that you should not judge. you call those that go to church false Christians and this makes you a self righteous pharisee.
............................sorry LouiseC, what you are saying is true and just, but since everyone here is tearing you apart for saying the truth, i believe i should join them in tearing you apart and deny you just like peter denied Jesus.lol.
yeah you are right, most true Christians don't go to church, most of those people you see in churches are not true Christians but infiltrators. and you are not a pharisee but a truth sayer. you appear to be in stage of self discovery where you see this evil world for what it really is. you've just discovered the great deception in the church. you are yet to discover that people like you are a tiny minority in the world. anyway, i see some qualities I'm looking for in your tone....looks like and most of the people here will believe that you and i will make a good match.lol, just kidding. i have already blown my cover here anyway, so i wouldn't be keen on chatting any lady up here. if i was to do that, i prefer going undercover with the lady not knowing that i know the things i have posted here, so that rules out meeting anyone here for something serious. if you are a true christian, i said "if" because anyone can come up here and claim to be true, but if you are then you should realize that just because those here appear not to be like you, that doesn't mean you should get angry. instead keep preaching politely even if you are called a pharisee. also you may be wrong when you say that there is no one like you here, because people like you are here and they read the posts here but they may not comment or create topics of their own. so carry on with your good works here, we support you.

I've absolutely had struggles in my life. I've been struggling hard for two years now. I don't take kindly to holier than thou types. I know what I'm talking about, mate. I was part of a weekly Christian fellowship group of 15 or so people (depending on the week). It was a home church. I and many others thought it was great and that we were worshipping in spirit and truth. We were all good friends but as close as family. But then the group imploded due to marital infidelity on part of the leaders (married people sleeping with married people, an unmarried person sleeping with a married person and the grooming of some young women).

This was a complete surprise to us. I'm well-versed in the Bible, but it escaped all of our notice. There was something like cloud of delusion/deception over the group that hid these things from us. I know for a fact that smaller groups can be just as evil. When my Christian friendship group (I thought I knew them all well) blew up in our faces, that damaged me big time. I lost so many friends and this was only a few months after my girlfriend had dumped me for no reason.
That was quite some home church that you attended.

I go to church. Are you calling me a fake christian? While I do agree that one does not have to attend church to be a Christian and you can easily have a service of a small group of people in ones house, I think calling everyone who attends church is pretty judgmental. And as for gay people, yes I'm against it but remember were supposed to love one another. You love that lost soul but you don't accept their practice. Honestly I believe people make a big deal about it since Christians have also done wrong things. I think you're right in some parts but it's not good to judge eveery one. As for the guy problem that's probably on you not them.
