I really don't like sarcasm, but I will let you know the only reason I'm not taking down your post is because you have the right to express your opinion. But I also have the right not to take it.
What are you talking about? Sarcasm is awsome.

It can also be used to offend and hurt people, intentionally or not. It doesn't matter how you perceive what you say, what matters is how other people perceive it.

How can I marry God? Isn't he a man? I can't catch a break! Even God won't be my spouse! :p

(not that I'd want to be married to a man or anything...)

This thread has only confirmed my theory that people will automatically make assumptions about people they don't know and then judge them just based on what they see in a post.
All we know is what you write. You say you want someone, but you shoot down any suggestion. You come up with every excuse why it wont work.

No it's just the reality. Reality should be accepted not feared. The truth will set you free. Not really happy, but free and at peace.
Why should that be reality? I will not accept it. If the truth will set you free, then truly you are more precious than thousands of animals.

I'll let you in on a secret. Sarcasm is OKAY it shows guys you are fun to be around and actually have a personality. No one wants to be around someone who is serious all the time...just dont overdo it lol

If we're going to have a PUBLIC discourse, we need to try not to be so sensitive.

We need to wear our big girl pants when we talk in a public forum.

My brother is serious most of the time. He still managed to get someone. Opposites attract, right?

I agree. It's just unfortunate that not a lot of people think that way. This is a reason people get fired over a tweet or facebook post.

Lol! We are still talking about animals? What I mean is unrequited love is real in response to your question. You will know what I mean if you become a victim.

Idk if victim is the right word, but I've been pretty generally rejected, abandoned, cast out, and trampled upon by many people.

Even still the animals cannot show a person the sort of love or companionship that mankind needs. I am thoroughly convinced that those that try to substitute animals or robots or anything else for human companionship will be left thirsty for the affection which they deny themselves.

You have a point but if humans are not willing to be with you, you can't force them and animals can be there to brighten your day but it does'nt mean you have to forget all humanity.

Why would you think there is not a human that wants to be with you? Maybe when people hide their hearts among the beasts it is hard for them to see the people that would love them greatly.

I was not referring to myself but just speaking generally.

Look it up. 2/3 of divorce is initiated by women, and Christians are divorcing at a slightly higher rate then the secular population.
That may be a popular statistic, but it's false. Christians are actually much less likely to divorce than seculars.
Depending on the study, both posts are equally correct.

I remember doing some digging around on this a few years ago because the numbers that I kept hearing (the same ones that Tommy quoted) really concerned me back then and the result was finding numbers similar to HistoryPrincess. The difference in the two equally correct numbers is the difference between persons who solely "claim" Christianity and those persons who are actually active in a church family.

We say in politics that issues positions are not strong correlated with religious profession, but the rate of Church attendance.

Faith without works is dead, so to speak.

So yes, being an "evangelical" and saying you are a Christian is not enough to wave a magic wand and put you in the "less likely to divorce category." Tommy is right- in many circles divorce between Christians is more common than the general population.

You'll find too that they tend to ascribe to a soft, therapeutic Christianity. Not a true celebration of and commitment to the Gospel.

Generally speaking, all the people here are really just talking to themselves.
That's fine, it's when you answer yourself is when you get in trouble:p
