I learned that a kid who made a cheat sheet for the first twenty elements and their symbols of the periodic table did not need it. He told me "I made a cheat sheet, but didn't use it. Are you still going to give me a zero?" I asked him what did he think. He then proceeded to stand in front of me and tell me all twenty in order- so of course I did not give him a zero.

A certain amount of fear is healthy - the kind that makes you stop and think things through, consider the consequences before doing something. But any fear beyond that is your enemy. Thats the fear that drives you to doubt the people you should trust, the fear that sends you into a panic, takes away you're ability to think clearly, and compels you to make decisions on impulse.
There is also good stress :)
It's called Eustress (I think that's how you spell it)

I learned that Paul loved Timothy as a son. He said, ......"My beloved son"......

Made me thing of God calling us His "Beloved Child" or all together as the universal church His "Beloved Bride!

I learned that operating a snowblower is kind of like trying to play the drums. I learned it's just easier for me to put my back into shoveling snow and do that junk by hand.

There are currently 118, so the first twenty are not too much to ask. Harry Potter knows his elements.

According to Captain Planet there are five. Although I never really was impressed with the "Heart" element. Half the time it didn't even work. He would try to use "Heart!" and talk to animals to calm them down, but he would report they were too upset to listen to him.

"General knowledge" is too general. I have no idea what you're talking about. Are you wanting a book of random facts? Uncle John's Bathroom Reader is good for that. There's a whole series of them. Each book has hundreds of random stories, facts and figures from all over the world.

Today I learned that my cat was hungry because we had to go for an outing, and I know this because she was meowing and meowing and begging my dad to give her dinner.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time Missy. :( I'll pray for you. I don't know of any general knowledge books, but there's pretty much all the knowledge one needs on the internet already.

There's a humorous one called 1066 and All That about English history, it's very humorous and very light. I don't know if you're into British history. I have a book called When, Where, Why, & How it Happened about historic events and how they changed the world- short blurbs, but I bought it at the Goodwill, so it might not be in print or readily available. I bought a book I have not read yet called What If? Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions. It sounds like difficult reading, but it isn't. One of the questions is "What if I took a swim in a typical spent nuclear fuel pool? Would I need to dive to actually experience a fatal amount of radiation? How long could I safely stay at the surface? There are stick figure drawings, so it's funny along with being instructive.
