God can do anything. Whether it's match making or whatever He needs to do to carry out His perfect plan . It's all up to Him. But there are times when He says this one is up to you as a gift. Those are times when He grants most of our wishes and prayers.
And sometimes he sends you flowers that you didn't want.. (just messing with u lol)

Lol! God has a sense of humor. I felt guilty for not wanting the flowers but I have a good reason.

And if I happened to want the flowers it's automatically a match made in heaven but the reality is that love is only a myth. (Just messing with you as well... Lol! ) love is real btw.

Every good and perfect gift comes from above- book of james I forgot the chapter and verse

Seek ye first the kingdom of God...

God promised to provide for our needs and He also gives some favors sometimes.

[h=1]James 1:17English Standard Version (ESV)[/h]17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.[a]

Simply stated: Everything good in your life comes from God....

[h=1]Matthew 6:33English Standard Version (ESV)[/h]33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

You have to read back about 6 verses for this to make sense. This is in regards to provision. No special favors. Simply stated "Dont worry, Gods got this."

Neither of these verses say anything about getting specials just because you want them. This is completely out of context.

Show me where it says favors....

Just another expectation in a long line of unmet expectations that leave people wanting, deafeated and demoralized. God isn't some Santa Claus that gives you presents if your nice and withholds them if you're naughty. Get out and date, listen to your gut, don't ignore red flags and find someone compatable to your personality and lifestyle.

"It isn't what a man prays for that he receives but that which he justly earns".

I think another problem that arises with the mindset that God matches people up is that when people do get together they have all these preconceived notions about what that other person is supposed be.....and you end up murdering each other's spirits in your quest to mold them into that expectation you placed on them before you even met them. Lol. Religion and incestious religious thinking is so destructive and cruel to the people around you. If anything...being comfortable and accepting of that person underneath your own skin is the only way to be happy with the person you are with. Being religiously stuck on ideas and preconceived notions is actually personified insecurity and will destroy every relationship you find yourself in. Just my opinions based on experience. We will never change another person enough to make us comfortable with ourselves. Lol

The hard cold reality of people is that they want so bad to change their circumstances but are unwilling to change themselves. So they will stay stuck in repeating patterns of destruction until they do and will never find the right person until they do. You bring to yourself that which you are.

Let me pose a few questions:

1. Does God have plans for you? Does God have plans for your life?

2. If so, what kinds of plans does God have for you, and for your life?

3. If God has plans for you... what kinds of things, in your life, would God be involved in, to bring those plans to pass?

i think he is building a character in us. And that is pretty much it. Good character equates to good choices and good relationships in life. And relationship is the entirety of the purpose of our lives. IMO

And I know that for me. I absolutely love watching my child grow and flourish and be secure in himself...make good choices, have good relationships and friends. I also love it when he overcomes adversity and learns. Is our Father in heaven any different or less joyful about any of that? Life is about connection. Horizontally to others and vertically to God. The people part is the hard one because lots and lots of humans are fickle biased selfish morons. We have to surround ourselves with the good ones that bring life to our lives.

I apologize if my posts come across as angry. I'm really not. I have a tendency to try to cut thru the crap as quickly as possible. I'm not being arrogant when I say that my gift is understanding why people do what they do. I understand human nature. We have a strong desire for self preservation. We are fearful insecure creatures who's actions a reactions to life and curcumstances become automatic impulses based on that desire for self preservation. Life is the process of unbecoming everything you thought you should be and unlearning all you have learned. We are supposed to unbecome what we have become so that we can be who God truly meant for us to be. If that makes any sense at all.

Let me pose another question:

there seems to be this idea in christianity today that God plays matchmaker between christians and he'll bring someone into your life, apart from a few exceptions in the Bible where people were brought together for specific reasons like mary and joseph there is no evidence God plays cupid.

It's unethical to promote this idea he does because it can cause christians who've ended up in abusive or terrible marriages to blame God for matching them with that person even if that person was a claimed christian.

For men especially telling them to not actively pursue relationships will result in a girl never approaching you either unless you are model good looks.

I am getting close to 40 and I was fed the lie of not pursuing a relationship and just waiting on God for a relationship and it never happened. I am never going to get an apology from the people that taught me this because they can simply tell me to be patient and trust in God and wait longer for a relationship, not till I am 100 and giving my last breath will they ever admit they were wrong but can then just easily claim I was given the gift of celibacy. That's very convenient to have a belief system to put everything in fate essentially.
God is not going to bring your future wife to your door no..... I think it is more meant that God has a person made fr you to be your possible soul mate... I ended up with a abusive husband but that was because I was not to Godly when I met him and got involve with him I had strayed away from god.. Now i feel like I am being punished most days. I am torn about how to fix things in my life. that is another story though.. God has given you an idea of the kind of woman he would like you to be with. It is one who will have the same basic principles as you. A woman who believes in God. A woman who is kind etc.... However my friend you have to look for that woman. God will only help you make the choice by the fact that you will feel in your heart that this woman is your soul mate. your desire. your everything. He will let you know that way. I suggest getting into a place where you can find a woman who shares your interests, hobbies, religious beliefs etc.... and start asking some girls on some dates... You willl know when it is right. You can not meet the one if your not trying to find her..

He knows our potential but doesn't interfere in the outcome of our lives. Our decisions have consequences and rewards. God doesn't possess a selfish desire to control everything. But He does leverage it all with the eventuality of making everything right.

He desires that all turn from their sin, repent, and believe :) That's pretty big, right there. Can you imagine a world free from sin? I dare say we would not recognize such a world.

I think he also knows it isn't realistic for everyone to turn from their wicked ways. It's one of the reasons I don't believe in an eternal hell. I knew a kid once whose mother drank like a fish while he was in the womb. He was a really jacked up kid and totally not his fault. And on top of that...he will likely never get anything right in his life...and again...totally not his fault.

Jesus Moses David Joseph all come to mind for me.

People With Plans:

1. If we took a few moments, we could think of many more people in scripture... for each of whom God said he had a plan, or purpose.

2. So, if God had plans and purposes for all of those people... how is it he has no plan or purpose for you or me?

Justness of Plans:

1. If God DOES have plans for some people, then he considers it MORALLY JUST to direct people's lives according to his plans

2. If it is MORALLY JUST for God to direct people's lives according to his plans... why is it somehow NOT morally just to direct YOUR life according to his plans?
