There's this girl at my church that is single and in her 30's like me. She's 31 years old and I want to ask to her out but not sure where to take her on a date to. At first I was thinking the movies but I really wouldn't want to see a chick flick and find the movies not be interesting as your sitting in the dark for 2 hours. I was thinking of taking her to a festival in April where I wan to see a rock concert with POD and Skillet performing for $20. This of course would mean I would need to buy 2 tickets then there's parking and food. The concert starts at 7:15 and P.O.D plays till 8:30 p.m. Skillet is the last band and plays at 9:30 till 11:00 p.m. I think a rock concert would be great as we would be out in public then you have your food vendors and rides, etc. The only thing is it might be over crowd as its' at a universality. I am just not sure how to ask this girl out on Sunday. I am not really good at talking to girls and we are both shy around each other.

The concert idea is alright although I believe that a movie date would be more romantic. It doesn't matter if you care for the chick flick or not just as long as your date enjoys it. As for being shy your just going to have to ask her. Tell her you find her interesting and attractive and how about us going to a movie or a concert?

Just bite the bullet and ask her out... you won't die.
You'll be fine.

Also, it doesn't really matter where you offer to take her.
If she likes you, she won't care.

You could start out by asking what kind of music she likes & if you find out she also enjoys rock music you can mention you got tickets to a concert. Then you can ask her would she like to go. She may or may not like that kind of music so it's important to know beforehand. That way if not you can just spend time together on rides & other festival stuff. I understand your shy but since your the guy you have to try to break the ice so she will be more comfortable.

That would require asking her opinion.

I don't really recommend giving up your male dominance by enticing a woman to give an opinion.

If you just stuff her into a sack, and drag her to the concert...
it isn't "technically" kidnapping if she enjoys it.

She enjoys every type of music except country. I always wanted to take girl to a concert as i usually go alone as i don't have any to go with. Saw Switchfoot and Relient K last year was awesome. I don't want want to buy the concert tickets and be stuck with them in advance. Probably just ask her what type of bands/music she likes. I know that not everyone likes rock music and some like other gens.

It might appear as a wimpy thing to do,but if you have that hard of a time, write a letter,or ask someone to tell her.

I am cheap when I take a woman on a date, which last week I had a date with a woman, and I took her to McDonald's and bought her a regular hamburger, the smallest I could find on the list, and a small order of fries, which I was hoping they had an extra small order of fries, for already I was fast approaching the amount of money I like to spend, and a cup for water, which was nice for it did not cost anything,so I was left with a little money in my date budget, where I could buy her a snicker's candy bar for dessert.

Then we went to Walmart and watched a movie on one of the televisions for sale, which was nice for it was on a flat screen, and we watched it on the biggest screen available, because I like to please a woman when we go on a date.

Then I took her straight home, and not cruise around as to save money on gas,and told her I might not call her because I did not want to use up any minutes by doing so,but told her if we happen to run in to each other if I was at that particular location,I would chat with her if I did not have anywhere I had to be,because that does not cost anything, which really tickled my fancy, and I almost peed myself with delight, for I sure do like to save money.

That is why I do not want to get married, because if we divorce she would get something out of the marriage, and I do not like even giving up 0.0001 percent of my money.

I am only kidding,I would treat her like a queen. This is something that is not really a big deal, but I still try to refrain from it,but every post that people put out,I have the urge to throw something joking in there, but I know I cannot do that all the time, but I have to let it out before I burst once in a while.I just hope someone reads the whole post or at least to the part where I write,I am only kidding, for then they might look at me in a negative way,for it would make no sense to say,I am kidding at the beginning, for then the shock treatment would not be there.

She's cute and has a beautiful smile. I am not good as telling a girl that i find her beautiful or attractive.

She's always saying hi to me after church for starters. She started doing this about 8 years ago to get my attention. I find it annoying at the time as I wasn't interested in her at the time. I guess I got interested in her when she grab my hand and when i turned around she had a huge smile and i just lost myself in her eyes. I know she has a sister and mother but nothing about her. Know she went to college with me but we never crossed paths.

If she started trying to get your attention 8 YEARS AGO...

the FIRST THING is to make sure she isn't married yet.

Next, if she's still single, don't wait another 8 years...

the odds are working against you.

Well im more of the gentleman type to ask what the woman likes first so she has the most enjoyable time while we're together. But that put her in a sack caveman tactic may work for some people i suppose lol

I'd suggest not going someplace where you can't talk. Going to get to know someone and not being able to actually do so seems counterproductive to me.

I think she's married, she has a twitter account and it shows her last name staying the same and i see no rings on her finger. Hopefully she ain't married or has a boyfriend when i see her tomorrow.

Sounds like coffee or dinner would be a good start, as what you know about her is mostly what you've seen.

Movies and concerts aren't going to reveal what you need to know about her thoughts/interests/hobbies/ambitions/politics/religious beliefs/hopes/dreams.

You'll need to break through this shyness that you say you have. Two shy people aren't going to get too far, in my estimation.

While trying to overcome shyness may be challenging, hopefully the fun of the pursuit will overtake it quickly.

I know I have enjoyed pursuing my gf. No plans to stop, even though we've been exclusive for well over a year. Plan to do it even if we get married. I want to be that husband who flirts and pursues his wife to the end...even if it means chasing her around in a wheelchair! Muah ha ha ha.

I'm guessing there is a little more to this story than her grabbing your hand and smiling?

She's married but has the same last name?

Maybe the picture is pre-engagement/wedding?

You hope she's not married and doesn't have a boyfriend, I presume?

Yeah there is, I was at my college and leaving one day and saw the girl downstairs in the hall. We started talking cause I had not gone to church in a few weeks. She said if I was still going and i told that her that i was looking for another church. she looked sad when she heard the news. She left as she was waiting for her ride. Told me see you later. I found her on myspace and sent her a message saying that she was sexy cause she was wearing a black dress. The next day, I went to church and after it finished, i was standing outside. I felt someone tapping my shoulder and giggilng like a school girl. I left a little hand grab my hand and started swinging it back and forth fast. Turned around and she had a huge smile on her that just took my breath away.

That's a promising start. It does look like she's interested in you. Or at least she was at the time that this happen.
