Hear my cry, O God;
Give heed to my prayer.
From the end of the earth
I call to You when my heart is faint;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a refuge for me,
A tower of strength against the enemy.
Let me dwell in Your tent forever;
Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings.

psalm 61, 1-4

1 O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
5 You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [a] you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to [b] me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up” (Proverbs 12:25, NIV).

“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears” (Psalm 34:4).

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7)

“Then Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?’” (Luke 12:22-26, NIV)

“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 42:5). - One of my favorites

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8).

“…the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:26-28).

“So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’” (Hebrews 13:6).

One of my favorites psalms and a great psalm for those in the midst of trouble...

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 23 KJV

Look and listen through the filter of the Holy Spirit given to you @ Isaiah 12 & 25; and know that He is not deaf nor His arm to short to deliver you through the trial of your faith , for it is more precious to Him than the finest gold, and your maturing in your faith will help you to see Him and hear Him even in the darkest hour, becuase you are worth more to Him than the sparrows of the field and your name is engraved in the palm of His hand, and His face is shining upon you. He has given the Spirit of adoption so you can cry out to Him abba, father,and not the spirit of fear whereby satan would have you to think that He is not listening or will not respond. For HE has said He would leave the 99 for you and that He rejoices over you with song, so praise Him through the trial be the warrior God through Christ by the holy Spirit intended you to be. No weapon formed against you........, The weapons of my warfare are mighty through God........., He has created me for good works through Christ......... Submit myself to God resist the devil and He shall flee....., FAITH IS THE REALITY OF WHAT ISHOPED FOR............. AND BECAUSE OF THIS GIFT OF FAITH THAT OUR ALMIGHTY FATHER HAS GIVEN, IT IS THE PROOF THAT HE WILL DO FOR YOU ALL THAT HE SAID HE WILL DO... He is not a man that He would lie nor the son of man that He would repent and hsa given us His spirit to us for our benefit and He did this with over abounding love.

the righteous cry out and YAHWEH hears them.
he delivers them from all their troubles.
YAHWEH is close to the broken hearted,
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Ditto to all the Bible verses above...however, what helps ME when I'm in the situation that you are, is to go out in nature or volenteer to HELP someone- nature not only puts your problems into perspective by seeing how GREAT and GOOD GOD is that He even KNOWS when a sparrow falls, but helping somone, often times shows how SMALL our problems are in comparison to others! Hope that helps as well!

Hearing God’s Voice

Communicating With God

Let’s go back in time a couple thousand years to the time of Christ.
Jesus and his disciples had just spent the day with a group of 5000 people. Jesus had performed a miracle by feeding the multitude with 5 loaves of bread and a few fish andnow it was getting late in the day. Scripture tells us that afterward Jesus sent the disciples and the multitude away.
What did Jesus do then? He found a way to become still to communicate with God.
Matt 14:23
And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. (KJV)
A similar scripture in Luke:
Luke 6:12
And it came to pass in those days, that he (Jesus) went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. (KJV)
Communicating with God was a very essential activity for the Christ. In The Bible there are numerous verses that indicate that Jesus often separated himself from his followers,from the hustle and bustle of daily living and found a place of solitude and quietness to communicate with God.

Be Still and Know That I Am God…

Jesus perhaps knew better than anyone the importance of that scripture in the Psalms:
Psalms 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God . . . (KJV)
We live in a very noisy world. I would say a much more noisy world than Jesus experienced in his day. If he sought out stillness in a world without TV, radio, newspapers, email, cell phones, ipods, etc. how much more effort must it require today to find the stillness and quietness to “Be still and know that I am God”?
I submit that communicating with God isn’t so difficult as truly becoming still to hear God’s voice. Therefore we must first learn to be still. To be still opens up amazing opportunities to know God. Learning to be still however requires some dedication and commitment.
Are You Bringing God A List?
Often our efforts to communicate with God are comparable to giving God a list and expecting immediate delivery. We feel pressured to do so much that we have little time to actually be still and listen.
Listening is really the greater part of communication. Listening can only be done in stillness – when we still our own minds and thinking and just wait.
Psalms 27:14
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (KJV)
Try This NOW!
Fortunately learning to be still is something anyone can do. You can start right now!
Be Still Now!
Find yourself a quiet place where you will not be interrupted. Sit and allow your mind to settle without influence. Relax your body. Notice what your mind does. Don’t try to control it or judge the thoughts that come. As you just simply observe the activities of your mind with gentle acceptance eventually it will slow down and stop the frantic jumping from thought to thought. Be patient – this may take several sessions. Take your time – you can’t mess up.
Eventually you will find it much easier to become still – with your mind just being – not running here and there frantically trying to provide something for you to think about!
In that space you can wait on God and begin communicating with God.
While you’re practicing stillness with the intent to communicate with God, the preparation of the heart becomes of utmost importance. It is in the heart where you hold beliefs and ideas about God that may actually be sabotaging your efforts to talk to God. Trust Him.

This verse usually gives me a lift:

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 RSV

Mat 6:25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Mat 6:26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Mat 6:27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Mat 6:28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Mat 6:29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Mat 6:30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven,shall henot much moreclotheyou, O ye of little faith?
Mat 6:31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat 6:32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Mat 6:33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mat 6:34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the dayisthe evil thereof. Hope this helps,I've counted on this portion of scripture a few times and it's always gotten me through.
