    What is/was your favorite decade?? (1900's - 2010's)

    I'll go first....

I often wish it was still the 80's. Not because of the music or movies, but because people were nice and friendly and you could start a conversation with a stranger and it was no big deal. I also miss the 70's because people were very easygoing and friendly and everything was about love and peace.

    What's your favorite decade?

    (from Magnum P.I. - 80's TV show)
My dad was the greatest dad I could have ever asked for. Thank you, Dad..

    For every occasion, a song!

    "Do you sing at church?"
"Yes I sing at church. And I sing at work. And I sing at home... and in the car... at the supermarket... at Wal-Mart..."

I wasn't around for any of those though, so I'll have to default to this decade. This is a great time to be a music nerd.

Id say the 1950s because families were the focal point of life and plainly life was just much simpler without all the technology we have now. And by coincidence I have been told I would be a June Cleaver when and if I get married lol

Dunno, it's easy to say a decade when I didn't live, because I don't know about the reality of living at that time

I.e: I sometimes wish I had grown up in a time where you didn't need to go around applying for jobs with people in suits expecting a master degree and ten years of experience, but in stead could just drop by a farm and say "Hey, I can muck your stables for you, will you give me shelter and food in return?" or something along those lines. ... yet I know that in those times "shelter" would not be heated, maybe it wouldn't even be wind- and rainproof ... so .... all in all , maybe I am happy with the decade I am in. *internet addict *

The 90's. That was the decade in which I grew up and the time when I was truly carefree and happy.

I need to mention one thing people. THIS is the decade of widespread broadband internet. 4G data connection straight to your PHONES, people!

Dial-up... *shudder* If I could go to any other decade I wouldn't. All the other decades I lived were only tolerable because I didn't know what I was missing. If I had known the current decade had such things I would have somehow invented a time machine.

I have a weird fascination for old 90s technology. I dunno why, its been growing though. I love those old boxy computers and VCRs and everything else from that era : p

As for my favorite decade, I dont really know. There are often many things that I really like about a few different eras. Though, if it werent for the technology today, I wouldnt have known about most of it, haha. I remember growing up in the 90s, my knowledge about the world around us, as in like whats popular and what people did and all that, it was all pretty much influenced by my older brother. One thing that I actually do like about this current decade is that I can easily use the internet to search up things that I like and discover new things on my own, meaning my interests arent merely the product of the people I know.

As for a favorite decade, this isnt it : p I cant say that I have a favorite, though I guess the 90s would be closest. The music was pretty cool, though at the same time it really centered around the focus of a sad singer for like every band. I dont like it when music is more about the singer and his lyrics and image than it is about the music being played. I like the technology of the era, I like how simple it was compared to now. I like it when I watch old tv shows and movies from the 90s, and the characters dont pull out their smart phones or any of that, haha.

Honestly, I see much more of a technical "connection" between parties because of that, and far more physical separation between personal relationships. I actually do know many younger people who truly don't really feel at all comfortable with face-to-face conversations. I don't think it is so much that they have lost that ability, as it is that they never knew it as a part of life. Many of them began their toddler years with a cell phone in their hands most of the day. At first, it was just a toy. Then it became their first friend. Now, it is their existence. They honestly do live through a 3"x7" screen of plastic.

Don't know if this is allowed or not, but I think I'll have to split my favorite decade between the late 90's early 2000's. I was a teenager and working on becoming and adult then so everything seemed exciting and new. At that age the sky is the limit.

Mine is late 90's and early 2000's, the reason it's my favorite decade is because it's my childhood years! And everything in my childhood years is the best. My school, classmates in grade school and teachers, childhood friends and best friends, the games we used to play as a child that you'd never find in any downloadable apps online or games in PC or mobile. And most of all, our family bonding. We're very close as a family. We prayed every night together at my parents room, we watched movies together, we eat dinner together and we talked daily about everything. I've missed that, because when me and my other siblings grow up and have our own lives, we find it hard to spend time together with my parents like we used to be.

2000-2010 because of all the greats who I saw playing for United. Cristiano Ronaldo, Tevez, Beckham, Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Patrice Evra, Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Giggs, Vidic and etc.

Might be better the 90's because there were even better players around for the club then. Peter Schemicel, Eric Cantona, the class of '92 and etc. but I never got to watch them play. I was only born in 1994 and didn't go watch United play until I was in my teens. So 2000-2010 for me, because of all the greats I saw at United and the fun I had at Old Trafford.

I know I am romanticizing the 1950s, but I vote for the 50s, hands down. WWII was over, the world seemed at tenuous peace (the Red Scare was there, but subliminal), people as a whole seemed optimistic about the future. The economy was doing well, Elvis invented rock and roll, cars were beautiful, people dressed well, manners were still evident, I like Ike, and like Renewed Hope said, it was all about the family. Besides, fashion was top notch.
