"Behind every successful man stands a woman to make sure he did it right."
As with every other generality, the generality on which this thread is predicated breaks down when applied to the individual. For some people it is very good to be alone.

I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I.
But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
sometimes i wonder if im meant to have a wife but after being single for almost 10 years out of choice at first being in the flesh to fornicate then after learning of God because i havent found a single woman good to marry
1Cor 7:34: "The unmarried woman or virgin is concerned about the work of the Lord, how she can be holy in both body and spirit.
But the married woman is concerned about the affairs of this world, how she can please her husband."
Rev 14:4: "These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. "
well...... im no virgin .... i may stop with lust and be forgiven of my past sin ..... but being unmarried is different than being a virgin that being said thank you

The meaning of the verse still remains... world vs service to Lord. Marriage is a wordly thing, in Christianity. Not a sin, but not the best way of life.
