Hey Peeps,

Are there some things in your life that you just can't seem to master? Everyday tasks, hobbies you've attempted, musical instruments or sports that were an epic fail?

One of my own running jokes about myself is that I couldn't grow anything green if my life depended on it. Even the most "hardy" and "easy-to-grow" plants start to wither within my very presence, and over the past 4 years of trying, I've had all too many casualties to count.

A while back, a beloved friend came to visit, and brilliantly snuck 3 cuttings from a plant I'd never had before through airline security--by disguising it as a "salad" (she even sprinkled cheese on it and everything, lol!) Henceforth, I have named the little guy "Caesar". :D But... alas. :(

One cutting died off almost immediately

The second is giving me the evil eye, and I don't think that's a good sign.

The third is FINALLY getting some new growth, but I still keep myself emotionally distanced, preparing for the worst!!! :( I don't want to become too attached!

Sadly, the only thing green in my life is my own face--when I read about other people's lush, over-abundant gardens!!!

If PETA had a division of Vegetational Rights, I'm sure I'd be on their Top 10 List of Offenders. But much to the dismay of green-leaved critters everywhere, I shall keep trying!!!

How about all of you?

* What are some things you know you're notoriously bad at?

* Have you given up on them, or do you still keep trying? Why or why not?

* What other things are you interested in that you suspect you might not be so good at, but you'll still try them anyway?

Here's to celebrating all the ways... in which we are NOT gifted. ;)

I guess it's just another thing that makes us unique. :)

First impressions. Also, last impressions.

* Have you given up on them, or do you still keep trying? Why or why not?

I don't really care. Maybe that's why I'm bad at them. lol

* What other things are you interested in that you suspect you might not be so good at, but you'll still try them anyway?

Taking selfies. I can never aim the better camera on the back properly, so it takes me a while to get one I like with the front-facing camera. I don't know how people do it. :p

Tons, but the one that comes to mind first is driving. The weird thing is, I LOVE driving, I'm just not good at it. I do not drive the Interstate. I have a mental block, but can drive in the city- no problem. It is weird.

I am bad at a couple things, but I not sure how to explain thing, driving flat carts, pulling pall jacks or stacking at work. First impressions, keeping a conversation flow. GRAMMAR I terrible at GRAMMAR! Even though I took a English 101 in college for basically academic writing. There might be more, but I am not sure, eye contact when speaking to someone or doing a speech, but that might just because I look like I am high (I hope that weird is alright to us.) since of how my eyes are shaped; droopy eye lids.

Drawing. That game where you draw a picture and friends try to guess what you're drawing first, that would be my nemesis. My mother can paint, there are two pictures hanging on the wall in my bedroom that my dad painted, my grandmother paints a lot... I can't even draw a stick figure accurately.

Grandma will occasionally ask my opinion about a painting she is doing. *shrug* Ask me about the violin line of a song, that's my forte. I can't give any kind of opinion about that painting, I don't know anything about it.

I, too, am notoriously bad at keeping plants alive. I kill them all. There are currently two in my home. They will both die, regardless of my efforts. I've decided I need really cute and pretty cacti. Maybe they will survive.

I'm awful at being on time. It's not like I'm trying to be late. I try extremely hard to be on time, yet somehow, I'm late 75% of the time. It's frustrating.

Keeping my mouth shut.

Not giving bad advice about depression and other heavy subjects without sounding like a troll or an idiot. I'm just not serious enough and I have never gone through those kinds of things before.

Oh, and also evangelism. Geez, I suck at evangelism.

I have a hard time walking because I screwed up my knee playing capture the flag when I was younger, jumped from a church stairway railing it was pretty high, and my own leg bent why the other did not. Most painful thing I ever remember but I got back up, and sat down for awhile. So, when I sing at church when I have to put all my weight on one leg.

I'm bad at writing correctly. At first everything goes good, grammar is twinkling like a star and I write like a columnist:p...then, after a few sentences something happens. I'm suddenly writing like a hick from behind the most ramshackled barn in the entire area, and grossly enough, if I try writing correctly I get so bored with whatever I'm writing that I just delete it anyways lol:p.

Best wishes with the cacti, Son. :D In my experience... they just take a little longer to die :(, seeing as I've killed off any cactus I ever had, too. :(

Aw, but Jennie, one of my favorite things about your posts is that you let your Southern roots show through!!! :D Which is awesome. I miss TXRoads too because the both of you had/have this wonderful way of "fully speaking" your accents through your writing. <3<3<3

I wish there was a way of conveying accents through writing. We have such a wide scope of people here... how cool would it be if we could all "hear" their accents in the forums! <3

And, reading through the posts... It's nice to know that as amazing and incredibly talented people are... We all have an Achilles heel... or both. :)

Any sort of artistic design, including putting furniture around and making a place feel inviting. If I had a decorating style maybe we could call it global first apartment. Nothing goes together, but every knick knack has a story. On the other hand, I'm single and would be happy living in a lair built of bookcases that were filled with books so maybe I just have really strange design needs.

Also, having much resemblance to a normal human being in the interior emotional world (emotions, what are those?) and avoiding ice cream. I'm really terrible at avoiding ice cream. Which also makes me pretty bad at losing weight.

A life without ice cream would be more of a mere existence than a real life... =^;^=

Grilling. I can cook, bake and even smoke food to perfection. Can cook so many things that would make you weep for joy. But give me a grill (charcoal, gas, doesn't matter) and the finest ingredients and I will waste your time and make something so inedible they might call the cdc.

I'm terrible at breaking eggs. The amount of times I've had to fish out little pieces of egg shell from the frying pan, blah.
