I've done some bad things...

I got drunk and partied about 3-4 times a week for 9 months, I slept with many different girls, I did weed and smoked for the same period of time.

However now I am a changed man, I have quit all of the above and reformed, I love the farther and I'm serving him. I am selfless and loved by all who touch me.

But be honest is my past a step to far...

Forget your past steps that you have taken. The most important step is the next one that you chose to take.

Its the direction you take now is what matters. We can't change the past. This is a valid post.

Willie, according to his introductory post in the new members forum, he's a new Christian who still has the sins of the past calling him. I don't see anything funny about laughing at him for asking a legit question.. :/

No wonder people don't like staying on this site.. just saying..

Hi Sheppard, Welcome to CC!

If you've been born of the Spirit, you get a good scrubbing.......your skin turns white as snow. :)

Like Jesus told the prostitute, we all need to go and sin no more......to live a life of faith and trust in our Lord. He empowers us through the Holy Spirit to walk in newness of life.

But if we do sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus His Son. And God is faithful and just.....when we repent of our sin, He will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Do you have a church you attend? It would be good to get into a bible study as soon as you can. We all need to find out God's will for our life, what pleases Him and we find that by learning what His word says.

As you read and study the word of God, you'll find a lot of biblical characters that have sinned and received forgiveness. Maybe that will encourage you when you read that you have been washed clean and forgiven because all your sins were placed on Jesus over 2000 years ago.

I'm not advocating drinking and smoking weed but those aren't crimes against God, the world or even yourself unless they are having a negative effect on you.

Sure people do bad stuff like drink and drive that DOES effect the world negatively and that's a crime against society but in my opinion just the use of that stuff ain't no sin.

Some people say that it is...God didn't though.

In fact it's my understanding that more than one of them saint people's was drunks.

Also I believe that God created weed for a reason.

Welcome Sam!

Tell me, are you a changed man because you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, believing on WHO He is, and WHAT He has done to save you?

If so, then don't trouble yourself over the accusations of the enemy.Bringing up your sins to the Father and also into your mind. He hates you, and who you are now. Which is a son of the most High God! The Father puts on glasses tinted with the Blood of His Son when He looks at you.

He has given you the power to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. If you falter, remember again who you are, by remembering who Jesus is, and what He has done!

Blessings to you and yours!

Hello and Welcome!
In terms of your relationship with God through Jesus Christ, you are clean and new, and the past is not counted against you. That is the Good News.

However... there are consequences to everything you do in life, so you may experience some unpleasant effects as a result of your past sins. This is not the same as judgment or punishment though. The consequences may even be unpleasant, but the difference is that now God is with you and your trust in Him is growing. Don't make the mistake of attributing the consequences to a "big meanie god who just wants to punish people for being bad"... that is not Jesus. Rather, choose to believe that God is good, and that everything which has happened and will happen are things which God will use to work out His will in your life.

Picture it this way: in your former life, you stepped off a cliff. On the way down, you have accepted Jesus as Saviour (I'm assuming that you have... that is very important!). You're still going to land, but landing isn't God's punishment. Keep trusting in Him. :)

If I remember correctly. There was a guy who was a gangster and drug addict, he was with a lot women too. He was like this maybe up till his late 40s. He was picked up by a nice christain couple and brought to church. He became saved and the paster helped him get clean in three days. This man edventually became a pastor and got married.

So I think your chances are pretty good :)

Chances for WHAT? Since this is in the singles forum, my first thought would be chances for a relationship. If that is the case, possibly. Your chances with God? Absolutely not. God is able to forgive much worse things.
