I have a pretty serious question so please help...2Cor 6:14-16 says "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever ...For we are the temple of the living God........"

My question is ..is a person who is born in a christian/catholic family a believer? When a person say I am a Christian does that describe them as a beilever? Or should she/ he have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ first? When you are a believer and have Jesus in your life your life-style changes right...? By life-style I mean...no more drinking, smoking, sex b4 marriage...bad mouthing ..or is this too harsh expectations...........are we being judgemental.........

My question is ..is a person who is born in a christian/catholic family a believer?- I don't think if you are born into a christian or catholic family that makes you a believer. My thoughts are that you have to make a choice and have a relationship with Jesus to be a believer.
When you are a believer and have Jesus in your life your life-style changes right...? -Yes but that also has to do with growth in your faith and walk with God.
Again these are my personal thoughts.
I think we can become too judgmental, Matt. 7:1-3 "Do not judge, or you to will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

What a Beleiver and non-Beleiver have in Common is that they both have conciousnesses, One beleives the Accention off The Mount of Olives took Place ,the other does not Beleive That event took place, But WE as Christians Know that it was the Accention NOT the Crucifixon that caused The churches to be built on every city town and village from Jerusalum to Russia and everywhere in between.
Christ stated that WE ALL have one of bodies; and NOW in this Generation that has a knowledge of power & energy like no other Generation before in History, to the point of space shuttles & nuculer plants, WHERE? with common sense could you be storing billions & billions of these powerful bodies of Energy? Love & Peace Forever in CHRIST!!! Early Rain Latter Rain

When someone is a "Believer," it doesn't mean they chose to follow God/Christ (Christian), it just means that they believe that He exists.

A lot of people are Believers, yet they live their lives however they wish. Like a few recording artists, they always acknowledge God, but if we look at their lifestyle, do we see them living for Christ? Not really.

An "Unbeliever" doesn't believe/is confused about whether God exists or not.

Someone who is "Saved," is a person who has received salvation from God and is a active follower of Christ.

BECAUSE YOU WERE RAISED IN A CHRISTIAN HOUSEHOLD DOESNT MEAN YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN. You absolutely MUST have a personal rlationship with God. Here are some scriptures for you.
Luk 16:13 no servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Rev 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Take these scriptures to heart.since if you do not have a personal relationship with Christ, but just act the part, they apply to you.

Maybe this will give you a simpler understanding; of all the above sins you mentioned above, the worst of them ALL is the bad mouthing,as with study you will find that when CHRIST Stated; for at this time,it is not what goes into a (persons) mouth that defiles them,RATHER what comes out of OUR mouths AT THAT TIME that defiles the person!
CHRIST told US that OUR flesh bodies are OUR Temples;Which with commen sense makes YOUR Mouth YOUR Church! That's why in PETER it mentions that although it be a little member; the tounge is OUR Worst piece of Evil to deal with!
Personaly thats why when I pray on my Gospel Armour(good news) for the day, that the most Important piece of that Armour to ME is the Quintuple bits through MY lips, the Quintuple bridles over MY tounge and the Reigns to those bits & bridles to be Firmly in HIS Hands, for HIM to be able to perform HIS Divine Super-Intervention with, as personaly without this help I am sure I would be a lost cause trying to be a vessel somewhat fit, from time to time,(though far from fit) to be avaiible for the Master to yeild HIS Doubled-Edged Sword through,But NEVER BY! His GOOD NEWS!!!Oh why I ask for 5 bits & bridles is a personal thing, knowing that in Biblical numerics 5 represents GOD'S GRACE,and He knows I sure need that!Hope this helps,no ill intentions meant.Love & Peace Forever in CHRIST!!!

When someone is a "Believer," it doesn't mean they chose to follow God/Christ (Christian), it just means that they believe that He exists.
Merriam-Webster: believer noun "a person who professes absolute belief in something".

It seems to me that if you profess absolute belief in Chirst, you will necessarily follow him, otherwise your faith wouldn't be absolute.

A lot of people are Believers, yet they live their lives however they wish. Like a few recording artists, they always acknowledge God, but if we look at their lifestyle, do we see them living for Christ? Not really.
It is questionable if those people are really "believers"...
