well, when I first meet someone attractive, I'm okay.

After I've known her a while and realize I still am attracted to her, I will become a blithering idiot, make a fool of myself, then come up with a million different reasons why she wouldn't be attracted to me. You know....the usual stuff.

It used to happen to me that I would meet someone and be completely dense and oblivious that they were being friendly or flirty with me. Probably happened 6 or 7 times in my life, and each time it happened I'd tell myself that I would pay better attention in a situation like that, but I never did. I might have missed out on getting to know someone pretty cool, but I was too stupid to realize she was trying to chat me up at the time.

The problem is nobody wants to risk making the first move.

This is why:

"And I even brought out my cute new netbook!"

Okay, okay, serious answer this time:

This is actually a rather improbable situation cuz I prefer 2D over 3D guys, if you know what I'm sayin'. But with that aside, I would do nothing, and move on with my life. If the guy happens to be a friend, I would just say hi and that's it.

Do you approach you or you approach them? If a hot girl were to approach me about anything I'll give off the impression I'm not interested or not having thoughts about her and act cool. I sideim like "oh my goodness an attractive girl I talking to me"

I love the awkwardness of these responses! Shows I'm not the only one.
Although as much as I am quite happy to introduce myself, I'm generally a mess inside, can still hold a conversation though.

I treat them like I do anyone else.. So basically I don't make eye contact and ignore them. Yeah I'm gonna be single forever =P

Where's the option for "ruin the date in four words"?
In some instances it may take five words to ruin a date. It would be interesting to go back to that thread to see how many of those responded have even been on a date and would possibility sabotage the possibility of a relationship because of fear of rejection or commitment.

I couldn't pick more than one.

First and foremost, I convince myself they couldn't possibly be attracted to me. Then, I replay every relationship I've ever had and remind myself that I am horrible at relationships and not equipped for the emotional nor physical complications they entail. Next, I try to make myself scarce or just leave before any really awkward exchanges happen.
In the past I have basically sucked at relationships too but God has been a big help to me in this.

Smile and start talking as my brain starts running around screaming in panic mode trying to figure out what to say. Realize I'm panicking over what should be an easy interaction which induces more panicking and nervousness. This anxeity triggers a biological reaction that flushes the cheeks and can't be hidden. Induce visible amusement and possibly pity in the face of my conversation partner as I fight the urge to break eye contact, mumble a closing line, and walk away.

I'd like to think I've gotten a lot better, and in a lot of ways I have, but if a really good looking woman walked over to me, said hi, and showed intrest? Once I worked past my suspicion you might as well slam my tounge in a car door cause it'd be about that useful.
