Doesn't work here. Unwritten rule says two strangers may not sit on the same bench
(If there are a lot of people waiting you might sit on the very opposite side of it though)
That's true. Under my first naive years in Norway I thought everybody was ready to crack open a conversation with me;). Not so much. I think I was widely known as the crazy American lady around the neighborhood after some time. But Norwegians are very nice when you get to know them:), and they do talk alot now lol.

Hi,I am a millionaire, now that has got to work.

I am not a smooth talker, stumble with my words when talking to a woman,on the verge of passing out, kind of like that Hindu guy Raj on Big Bang Theory, and when I would talk to a woman at a bar I would be like,c-c-can I b-b-b-buy,you a d-d-d-drink,and the responses I would get would be,not if you were the last man on earth, not in a million years, get out of my face before I call the cops,or do you want this mace, all up in your face, which I did not like she said that, but being the nerd I am,I thought, you are a poet, and don't know it.

So I was like this is not working, and then all of a sudden confidence came over me,and I said,I know I will let Benjamin do the talking, for he is a much smoother talker than me,and I quit stumbling my words, knowing this was a sure fire way to buy her a drink, and have a conversation with her,so the next time I went to the bar,I said plainly, can I buy you a drink, and like usual got turned down,so I opened my wallet, and made sure she could see all those Benjamins inside ready to do the talking, and succeed where I have failed, and I could hear Benjamin whisper we got this, and threw 2 of those bad boys on the bar counter, and said, are you sure you do not want that drink, and sure enough she said, sure I will take a drink.

Like American Express, when it comes to Benjamin, don't leave home without him.

But I joke, for one I do not want to dog out all women, for not all are shallow, and there are shallow men too,and forget the bar scene, and I am not a dog and do not like treating women like material objects.

As far as a first liner,I would not even worry about it but say hello, and be yourself, and be polite, and not a dog,but some women like the dog type, but I will still not be a dog, because I will not dog out myself, because I like to act decent, but as a Christian man we should not like the type that like the dog type anyway.

no line needed....just ask.......would you prefer a corny pick up line ....or a sincere request to get to know you......hi my name is,,,.....
What do you say when she says "I want a corny pick up line"? I mean, you know there are women who when given the two choices are going to wonder what you have got in your arsenal.

Why must she be a player? Maybe she is into wit and cleverness. I mean if it is the intro, that seems fun. Not that he should continue feeding her lines. It might make him stand out if he is particularly funny and clever.

I also must disagree with this. It's a very absolute statement you've made there. If a corny pick-up line is given in the right tone of voice to make it well known it's being used to be humorous, and the woman laughs, then two things are known:

1. She has a sense of humor
2. The guy has already made her laugh before he even told her his name. Bonus!

While truly intelligent people are rare as hen's teeth, they are out there, both men and women. Sometimes humor is a great way to tell the truly intelligent from the book-smart posers.

I like to calmly hang a second and get into her world; what is she doing which she is liking, or enjoying. Or if she is solemn, what might she be solemn about in which I would state encouraging things I see around me happening, so as not to highlight her solemness but to contrast it..

I don't rely on any gimmick intro's, I just get a name and use a name (that's important, some of us men forget names too easily:rolleyes:), and then as I see what she is interested in, I use open-ended good questions, rather than one-liner's. This way I am already submitting to her, and showing her I care about what she cares about. Women want to be loved above all other women and to be protected. This will also save me countless hours of frustration thinking I can be a he-man-hero. She is not looking for a buffoon, she is looking for steadfastness and loyalty; and someone who will listen intently so.

I rely a lot on my spirit to just make the moment stay real and sincere; as I guard my own heart and mind from letting the animal Dan (fleshly Dan) out for the hunt lustfully. This way our moment will remain His moment gifted to us both; even if it is a casual greeting at the end.

That is very sad. Some of the most interesting conversations I've ever had have been on a bench at the mall when I'm waiting for the church youth group to get through shopping.

If I went over there I'd be a fish out of water. Or... er... yeah, a lynx outside of his patch of woods.
