I would imagine so, it sounds like an open relationship. In his defense, he did say he does not wish to be married and have to be with the same woman 7 days a week. He can do 2 days a week at most. He needs to be free.

I'm still single because I am still seeking for her. I haven't find her yet. For it is written, "Seek, and you will find." I know very soon I will find her.

But in the past, my colleague was very interested in me and she wanted me to marry her. She was a good friend and at the same time my colleague. But I turn down her request. However, she is married and she is still my very good friend and her husband also is my friend.

Also, when I was in the University, I have female friends that were very interested in me. Some of the reasons they were interested in me was because I always tell them the truth about any matter even thought it may hurt them(they love tell me their situations because I will guide them to the truth about it.), and I make them laugh a lot because of this, I have many female friends who loves me and was interested in me. But to me, they were just friends and I also help them a lot in Mathematics since some of them were not good in Mathematics.

I struggle with same-sex attraction (although I have never acted on those desires outwardly) & desire to please God in my life so I am seeking holiness which may mean remaining single forever. Now I have always been an independent person and had difficulty even when in dating relationships with not wanting to be in it, but it could have been because they were men and what I was going through or that I am just a real independent person.

Stress is not necessarily a bad thing. There is good stress and bad stress. Exercise is a form of stress, for example. Excitement is a form of stress.

Reminds me of Captain Natey in Catch 22. He purposefully makes himself bored so as to slow his perception of time, thereby increasing his life expectancy.

I don't think Heller intended the reader to take it this way, but I walked away thinking some things that make life shorter and momentarily unpleasant also make it worth living.
