Yes, it's yet another frivolous thread! Let's assume you could change into an animal (and let's also assume you didn't have an evil alien conspiracy to thwart, so you could just change to an animal form for fun.) If you could become any animal for a while, which would you choose? And more importantly, why would you choose it?

I'll give you three guesses which I'd choose. =^.^=

Why? Well for one, felines are graceful and agile. A feline walking gives the impression he is consciously evaluating every step he takes. A feline leaping, crouching or running is a furry liquid in motion. A feline stalking prey is a study in careful attention to each slow movement.

For another, felines are much quieter than some animals. A dog barks at anything new that comes into his world. A bird yaks its feathered head off. A feline only speaks when he has something to say, usually when he needs something.

For a third, felines know how to take it easy. It's called a cat-nap for a reason. Felines can also kick it into overdrive in about a tenth of a second if life gets hectic.

Why a lynx? Well, it's the best of all worlds. House cats are too small to defend themselves very well. Tigers are too muscle-bound to chase their prey so they have to lie in wait for something to come close enough. Cheetahs are fast but not enduring, to the extent they often have to rest for up to half an hour after a hunt before they have the energy to eat.

A lynx on the other hand is large enough to be dangerous if provoked, but not a feline given to attacking humans for no good reason. You have to really go out of your way to threaten a lynx for him to consider damaging you. Lynx are not too big, not too small, not too muscle-bound and they have the energy to do whatever needs to be done.

A yeti. Would be hilarious to scare people and watch them run!

Speaking of felines, believe it or not I saw a large bobcat/lynx walking around on the street just down from my house today in the middle of the day! I was in my car and at first I thought it was a large dog, then I thought it was a coyote because we often get those here, but as I got closer I was astonished to see that it had the head of a cat and no tail  It was much to big to be a regular cat. It was about the size of a german shepherd. Then I was like whoa!!! Cooool!!!!! :D And it wandered off into someone's yard.

Behind my house is a large strip of undeveloped land and we used to have a deer crossing sign on one of our streets and I actually saw two deer one night as I was driving home but it was back in the 1990's... so there's probably lots of cool animals hanging around here... plus there is a large state park/wildlife preserve less than 5 miles away.

A wolf. I have always liked them. Also if I wear a collar I won't neccesarily be shot wandering around in animal form. In my area alot of choices might eat a bullet because you were too close to a gun crazy redneck. :)
