I know this has been asked a million times, but hey, people change :p

So, for those who live alone, what do you normally do when you're bored (or like on your days off).

I don't live alone, but I do have a LOT of free time on my hands while my husband conducts business... So though this may sound odd... I play with two goats I've raised as babies; take care of chickens, a quacker and goose, 2 dogs and random squirrels. Ride a 4 wheeler, (occasionally wrecking it), yard work, swimming... and on quieter days... I write. I hate being bored! :p

Laughing is an excellent cure for many maladies, including the malaise of boredom :D
I love to laugh, Magenta... I truly do. And I appreciate those with a great sense of humor! :p

Without a sense of humor we would all be dead :( I have just been conversing on another thread about alcoholism and fellowship and support networks (including the church), and it brings to mind now something I heard someone say at a meeting, about how they came to meetings because they were suicidal and then after coming to meetings they became homicidal. It is great to be able to laugh at our foibles :D

***I ask the Lord what I should do and He almost always has something interesting for me...

On the rare occasions when I have free time and it isn't taken up with duties or school work, I like to read. I can lose myself in a book. Awesome stuff.

I wish I had the room to have my stuff out, because at one time in my younger years, I liked spending time tying flies for fishing, and I was a pretty decent plastic model builder too depending on the kit.

When in my early 20's I went to the job centre and they had just introduced a scheme where one could work and be trained where the employer would have free labour (These scenes meant in my area jobs disappeared as employers would just keep getting a new employee for free every year! Anyway, the lady asked me what would I want to do as they had these job experience years training in any given means of employment and I said "Bank robbery". She then said " Every subject except that one!"

About boredom. You can't get bored if you have a model railway! Especially if one chooses a scale that requires a lot of conversion or scratchbuilding or kit building!
My newest project is the blue railway coach below, having been given it free as a mysterious battered child's toy!

CaptainGoat was the child mysterious and battered or was the train car mysterious and battered? Or was the child mysterious and the train car battered, or vice versa? It's hard to tell from the phrasing.

As for boredom, I sometimes wish I were bored. I remember being bored, and it was a lot more peaceful. But that is usually a fleeting feeling because I don't have much time to dwell on it.

For anybody who is bored though, my dog has some advice: take a nap. Seems to work well for him.
