I understand if you don't want to let me be a part of this...it's fine, honestly. Just to let you know. I'll just leave this thread, if you want me to.

See you around, then! :)
Sonia, honey -- it is not that anyone actually wants to exclude you. That is not the issue. The issue comes from the association of the "adult concept" nature of the thread topic with "under-age" members.

It is mature of you to accept the consequences of the outcome of the issue with a proper attitude, however.

As a matter of "legal precedent" with regard to the site rules -- I would say that there is presently no remedy against you participating at will - being a member of the site.

Just try to understand that - "in the big picture" of real life - it is not considered 'healthy' for one who is "under-age" ( according to the definition set forth by any-and-all justifiable jurisdictions ) to be 'included' in something of an 'adult' nature as is the topic of this thread.

That is where the issue lies...

Kids this age are my business. You could say I'm an expert. I firmly believe they should be socializing with their peer group. There should be a delineation between kids and adults in social life online as well as offline. I mean, everyone would think it is weird and unhealthy if a 14 year old kid was best friends with a 30 year old adult in real life.
I understand, darlin' -- I really do. And, there is a whole lot of "should" in this world that [ just simply ] "isn't" --- and, it does not make anything right by it being that way.

That runs somewhat contrary to my experiences. As a teen i hung out with people my age, and also people double my age. No one ever thought much if my 30 year old friend, or friends, would hang out with me.
Now "best friends" I could see being an issue. But that's taking a more extreme example.

1. Who are unhappy with me because I tend to drop several threads here, and,

2. People who are unhappy with me I'm apparently not churning out threads fast enough, or using their ideas.
I enjoy the carpet bombing because they are always actually good topics lol.

I like this thread! It's making a somewhat productive use out of the SinglesForum.

That said, I'm attached. Do not include me. If you do, I will hurl insults and feces.

How old a teenager? Were you 17 or 18 hanging with 30 year olds, or 14 and 15? Believe it or not, there is a giant chasm between kids who are 14 and 17. There's a giant chasm between kids who are 11 and 13. There is a very good reason why we separate students into three groups. There's a world of difference between middle school and high school kids. I know it seems strange, considering there is not much difference between a 20 year old and a 30 year old, but there are so many differences between 11 year olds and 13 year olds, it is astonishing. The same with 14 and 16 year olds.

People who are not around kids very often may not understand these differences.

Too late, hurl away. Besides, you got paired up with Rachel20, so you have no reason to complain.

But I can give you guys the benefit of my experience by explaining the huge chasms between age groups. Children change so much, especially in adolescence, that there is very little in common between children of 14 and 17, much less between 14 year olds and adults.

I'm a Mama Bear at heart, I'm always trying to look out for my babies. Most teachers consider their students "their kids" so this is why I feel passionate about this topic. I know kids are too immature to socialize with adults. Heck, most adults are too immature to associate with other adults (myself included), much less kids.

Well... this thread has certainly become quite the can of worms.

In regard to children being at-large on the forum, I believe I will second what others have said. We should take care to consider them and their presence when we post something.

Or as Optimus Prime said, "We must watch where we step."

The bible says that foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child. Children should be with adults preferably their parents to teach them not to be fools, and so that you don't have fools leading fools. I'm not advocating for an underage romance or innocence destroying knowledge to be released on kids, but its good for kids to be with adults as long as those adults are not fools. We should likewise make an effort to keep ourselves from foolishness, especially where kids can view us.

I don't think adolescents should socialize with adults. I know kids, they are not on the same level as adults.
