Aww man...I need to be a subscriber first to get into the Singles chat, though 
so unfortunately, I can't tell you much about the subscriptions or how they work. I tried looking up some info on CC Chat Rules and in User 2 User but I wasn't very good at finding anything.Do the current CC members out there know what newer members have to click on (what screen, icon, setting?) in order to buy a subscription, and how much does it cost?
I'd like to know myself, seeing as I try to match that amount in what I donate every year, but I don't know what the current amount is.

I have a very odd, irregular schedule so between that and all the other people in different time zones who might be interested, hopefully we can work out a few times in the future that will catch as many people as possible.

Actually we're not going to do that. I posted this while I was at work, on lunch break. I was thinking about "we can use these tools to do this" but I didn't think about the people who are providing these tools for us to use. After I went back to work I started thinking about the ethics of this plan.
To put it bluntly it would be rude to use the CC chat as a waypoint to a Skype chat. It would be like going to look at cars at a Ford showroom, and all the time talking loudly about how we were going to go to the Chevy place in a few minutes and buy a car.
Or a more accurate analogy (for we who are nerds) would be if I wrote a script that used Google to run millions of searches so I could compile a big database of traffic profiles in every city, town and village in the USA. Technically you can use the Google API to do that, but that is NOT what Google provided that tool to be used as. It would be inconsiderate to use Google and an automated script in such a manner.

Okay, so meeting in the Lounge: How will we be heard above the noise? There are two chat tools that have been around forever (and are well implemented in current CC chat client) that will help.
First, if you start a statement with the name of the person you are talking to, it will highlight what you said for that person and play a notification sound. As so:
seoulsearch: I agree with what you said, but I don't understand what you said, but you said it with such conviction that you MUST be right, so I'll agree with you.
That lights up that whole statement on her screen to draw her attention to it.
The second tool is tab nick autocomplete. I don't have to type out the whole "seoulsearch" nickname. I just hit "se" and hit "Tab" and it autocompletes "seoulsearch." If there is also a "Sean" in chat then I can hit "seo" and "Tab," or I can hit "se" and hit "Tab" multiple times to cycle through all the nicks that start with "se."
Speaking of which, I'm in chat. Look for the handsome Lynx.
