[h=1]My dear friends, brothers, sisters and parents; the times of ignorance has passed; when people thought or believed that Christianity is a religion or a denomination or tradition or going to church on Sundays and other days. These periods of ignorance has passed. Going to church every Sunday does not make us Christians. Remember, our LORD JESUS called the Scribes and the Pharisees hypocrites and told them to repent from their evil ways or else they perish. They were going to Church every Sabbath day as we also do today but they were not doing the word of GOD in their daily lives. John the Baptist also called them Brood of Vipers and asked them to repent and bear fruits that befits repentance. JESUS again said to them, “You leave the commandment of GOD, and hold fast the tradition of men. You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of GOD, in order to keep your tradition.” This is what is happening to some of us today. We loved keeping the tradition of men, the tradition of our churches rather than the commandment of GOD. [/h]
My dear, Christianity is not a religion or a denomination or tradition or going to church on Sundays and other days; but it is a relationship with GOD. It is the life of CHRIST in you as you live on earth. This is what Christianity is all about. So, how do we have a relationship with GOD? How do we live the life of CHRIST? We live the life of CHRIST when we hear and obey the word of GOD in the Bible that is, when we hear the word of GOD and do it in our daily lives as we live on earth. When we do this, the word of GOD become an integral part of us and we become an integral part of the word that is, the word live in us and we live in the word. This is Christianity. This is what will take us to Heaven and not our religions or traditions or denominations.
Remember, a relationship only exist when there is love. That is why the two Greatest Commandments of GOD are based on LOVE; which says, “Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself.” Where there is no love there is no relationship.
Now, listen to the question JESUS asked Simon Peter. HE asked him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” JESUS asked Peter this question three times to make the concept clear. The reason JESUS asked Peter this question was to make Peter, you and I to know that we can only have a relationship with HIM if we love HIM. In the same way, JESUS was simply telling us that we can only have a relationship with HIM if we love HIM. In other word, we can only respond to HIM if we love HIM. If you do not love GOD, you have no relationship with HIM and you cannot respond to HIM. Some of us, our relationship with JESUS is zero.
Now, listen carefully to what JESUS said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. If a man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.”
What our LORD JESUS said above is very very clear to all. The question now is, do you love JESUS or do you have a relationship with HIM?
So observe yourself and see if you love JESUS. Observe yourself and see if you have a relationship with HIM.
So, never you fail to listen to the word of GOD with your heart, to read the word, to study the word; and to do the word, to act the word and live in the word.
My dear, the times of ignorance GOD overlooked, but now HE commands all human beings everywhere to repent, because HE has fixed a day on which HE will judge the world in righteousness by JESUS whom HE has appointed, and of this HE has given assurance to all human beings by raising HIM from the dead.
Now, repent from your evil ways of life; and ask GOD to make you love HIM with all your heart, soul, mind and strength in JESUS’ NAME. Ask HIM to make you love your neighbor as HE has loved you. Ask HIM to give you an obedience heart to HIS Word in the NAME OF JESUS.
“Blessed is he who hears the Word and do it. Anyone who keeps my Word will never see death.” Says the LORD.
Glory to GOD. HOLY FATHER, I thank You for your Word today in JESUS’ NAME.
