Which age would you live in if you had your own Tardis to take you anywhere in the world at any moment in history. (No. You don't need to be a Dr Who fan to reply).

This is partly inspired by the communication thread, where a certain woman still seem to live in the stone age without a smartphone.

I would live in Leipzig in from 1723-1750 (as an adult) and have a blast going to church listening to a new Bach cantata every Sunday. Yes. I think I would probably play the bassoon in the orchestra. (That is what I am dreaming about doing in Heaven BTW)

I would go to Jesus' time, specifically when they brought to Him the woman who was caught in adultery, and see what He wrote in the dirt. I'd need to bring either a translator or google translate... Some say Jesus wrote a list of sins, and each person in the crowd found the sin in his heart listed there. I wonder if Jesus wrote "Where is the man?" Takes two for that sin you know, and they didn't bring the male.

I don't think God will allow time travel though, because some well meaning fool would probably go back with a machine gun and try to prevent the crucifixion.

I am reminded of a quote from a Star Trek book. The crew was debating what would happen if they altered something in the past, and what the effect would be on their present time, and of course it devolved into a tangle of baseless speculation. Geordi sighed and said, "This is PRECISELY why time travel gives me nosebleeds."

I would borrow a Death Note from a willing shinigami, time travel to heaven before sin existed, when there was only God and his angels, then write down Lucifer's name on the Death Note. :)

You're mixing universes here... Shinigami and God-and-Lucifer don't exist in the same reality. Or if shinigami did exist, they would probably be demons and no demon death note would kill the demon's own master. :p

Yes I'm a nit-picky nerd. Sorry about that. I'll hush.

Well...I could just travel to the Death Note universe first. :/

However, in the event that the shinigami doesn't want to lend his death note, that's fine. There's a simpler way to do the deed.

In that case, I would just go back to this universe, get any old hammer, time travel to where Adam and Eve are when Satan is about to tempt Eve into sin, locate the little bugger, raise my hammer, and...*BASH*

There are so many ages I'd want to experience. But do I have to travel as yours truly? Or can I just pick a historic, amazing character that makes everybody else come across dreary, boring null and void?:p

I could easily imagine me traveling as some beautiful princess, with a high end budget...erm...forget that...I mean I want to travel to learn from history so that I can help the world leaders to make this big ol wicked world a better place...erm...

WineRose be sure to bring the skin back. Nothing more redneck-classy than a pair of snake skin boots.

Not to mention God lives on a spiritual realm, not a physical, so time travelling machine would not be able to take you to heaven.
Also God and heaven exist outside of time. A time machine would be useless in a timeless environment.

I resemble this remark.

And I'd be perfectly happy to stay within the Dark Ages, too--it's just that all the cool people I want to talk to have phones with more beeps and whistles than my car. GRRR...

I have to be honest in that I'm pretty happy living in the present age.

I guess I'm too pessimistic to want to see what's happening too far into the future (maybe I've watched too many "12 Monkeys"-type movies) and as far as the past goes...

Sorry, but if it's an era that doesn't have flushing toilets or people who take regular showers, I don't want to be stuck in it!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when I try to be creative. Lol...

I think I'd want to go back and try to get some painting (and maybe life) lessons from Mr. Renaissance Man himself, Leonardo Da Vinci.

Of course, he probably didn't speak English, so that would surely complicate my plan a little bit.

Uncle Rico's time machine, good luck with it.

I would smash up my time machine with a bat, hammer, and wire cutters. This would be my good deed for the day, than drink a Pepsi.

Hmm..
Going back to the biblical time and seeing Jesus in person, hearing his voice - just thinking about it makes me understand how the die-hard fan girls really feel when they see their favorite celebrity/boy band in person, in close proximity.

Other than that, maybe couple of points in time in the past... where I could do things differently.
But on second thought, I think I'm okay with my past, the way it is. Better not live whatever is remaining in regret.

Walk trough the valley

On a time machine: it backslides when we don't do well, reliving the past insanity. "Man that is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble." "This one thing I do, forgetting what is behind to go on," to know the Lord. Walking in the light we have we get more light, "Redeeming the time for the days are evil." "Snared in an evil time," "Come let us return to the Lord... after two days He will revive us and the Third day we shall live in His sight." "Today and tomorrow, I heal the sick and cast out devils and the Third day I shall be perfected." Trouble with the time machine as wishful thinking about the future, losing identity in present reality. Looking forward to the end of the journey through time, waiting to land on the Third day in a few years; where He will reign for a thousand years. Approximate time of the two days, of healing and deliverance, beginning when He spoke of it around the year 31 to sometime before 2,031. "Except those days be shortened no flesh would be saved but for the elects sake those days will be shortened."

I'd go back about 10 years ago. Good times.
