Hey Everyone,

Seeing as it's now been well-documented that there are certain foods I don't care for (to put it mildly :D), I was wondering, what about the rest of you? :)

What are the foods you refused to eat as a kid, and still don't like, or how have your tastes changed over time?

I know it's a rather frivolous topic, but one of the things that helps me get to know/remember people is by learning about some of the most simple/basic things about them, such as their likes and dislikes.

And truthfully... I'm hoping that maybe we can start up some additional banter/joking around with each other in the threads about what OTHER people don't like to eat... and not just the things that I don't like. :D

So, please tell us...

What foods have you tried... that make you want to turn green?

If it's food, I like it. If I don't like it (to eat, that is), that's because it isn't food.

Margarine, Goldfish, Twinkies and carbonated sweetened artificially-flavoured beverages are not food.

If it didn't grow, or come relatively directly from something that did grow, it probably isn't food.

Any kind of "Greens"
Olives
Quiche
Eggplant
Boiled Cabbage
Spinach
Sour Kraut
Zucchini
Beets
Rutabagas
Squash
Turnips
and there a bunch more that all taste like these.... AWFUL!

Willie pretty much hates all vegetables... Lol.

Ironically, I like some of the most reviled foods in human history--such as spinach, prunes, and fruitcake.

Rose,

Is it the "heat" of the spiciness that bothers you, or the actual spices themselves? (For instance, do you like things such as chai tea, pumpkin pie, or things with a lot of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, etc?)

I don't like cucumbers. Or tomatoes, but they're tolerable. I also don't like chocolate ice cream.

Bring on the spicy foods though! :D

I don't like pie, unless it's chocolate. I DO like just about anything chocolatey.

I do not like:

Pickled Herring

Saurkraut

Most canned vegetables (fresh are good to go though)

Sweets of most types

Catfish

Fruit (but I like fruit juices)

Sriracha...just NO! Gag.

Walnuts (they squeak between my teeth ad it gives me the shudders)

Sweet pickles or bread-n-butter pickles

Kidney beans

Anything "hot" just for the sake of being "hot". Ridiculous. Keep your Nashville Hot Chicken away from me, cretin!

Kale. No thanks. I'm not a ruminant. Kale isn't food.

Cucumber (I love them but they irritate my stomach so I can't eat them)

For some people... I think it might be easier just to ask them what they DO like! :D

Good golly. I totally respect everyone here...

But I'm thinking that trying to plan a dinner menu for everybody would be a nightmare.

Mayonnaise, unless it's on top of a pair with some Cheddar cheese. Nothing sour or too sweet. Cooked carrots are blah, raw taste better. And I don't really care much for BBQ, grilled yes, BBQ no.

I do not care for:
Liver
Any canned fish
Canned veggies
Anything so spicy hot it leaves my taste buds crying and yelling, " how dare you"!

Prefer fresh, non processed foods

Don't touch my coffee or my dark chocolate...I'm not violent, but this could cause me to hog tie you and force feed you the foods you dislike!
