I appreciate this. I really do. I respect you for your honesty. We do live in a very difficult time in history.
Well thanks I take that as a compliment, but you don't gotta respect me. Respect no man says the Bible, God is not a respecter of persons. Praise Jesus instead. I just saw your and magenta's lil debate earlier and made me think of some Proverbs I recently read and meditated upon, so just was throwing some of my own basic ideas out there on the subject, your perspective is very interesting though not totally the same as mine obviously, but it's old school viewpoints, nothing wrong with that good thoughts.

What is strange is claiming that people only have one reason to watch any type of show if there is any adult content, and that doing so only leads to sin, which he seems to have a great deal of experience with, yet refuses to take responsibility for, repeatedly projecting his inability to control his lascivious animal urges onto any who dares to question his faulty premise, as if everything not living up to his standard is porn.

What is strange is condemning people for watching movies rated for eight, ten, and thirteen year olds.

What is strange is him claiming to be exercising discernment because he has that right, as if nobody else does.

What is strange is how he rationalizes and justifies lying and misrepresenting himself while putting on airs as if he is better than others.

What is strange is that he is fine with falsely accusing others, condemning, judging, and generally behaving as he says non-believers do, attacking those who disagreed with him.

What is strange is that I think he was actually proud of his performance. If it is wrong for him to watch a movie for purely prurient interests, and that show causes him to sin, that is one thing, but to claim that for everyone else is something else entirely.

It is also strange that you think watching anything he doesn't like is considered partaking in worldly ways, and evidence of lack of faith.
UNBELIEVER ALERT! UNBELIEVER ALERT!

You have so horribly misrepresented and added to my view on this matter that I have no choice but to consider you an unbeliever, because that's what unbelievers do to believers. There is hardly a shred of accuracy in what you say. And this despite the fact that I've clarified much of this with you but you still refuse to listen.

An amazing place we've come to in the church. It's now okay for the people of God to watch other people perform explicit sex acts on each other. Wow! And the one's who say you should not do that are actually the one's in the wrong. Amazing.

What makes it wrong?
Sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires are the workings of the flesh. The workings of the flesh that we are told to put to death:

"5Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[SUP]b[/SUP]7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator." (Colossians 3:5-10 NIV)

Why do you assume a person lust who views a naked woman?

Hmmmmm

I guess if I posted a nude picture of my grandmother here, I guess not many would feel lust. I actually watched a show about a nudist town in France, where everyone walked around naked. And there were not much lust to see around. At least I didn't feel anything. They said something interesting, tough. Sometimes wearing clothes makes a person more lustrous. I have seen women in niqab, and they only show their eyes and sometimes their hands. And I have never seen such sexy eyes in my life. She would surely seduce any man in this forum (even me, and I am as hetero as it goes).

In Finland they have a strong sauna culture, and I have been in mixed saunas many times. No lust there, either.

Sometimes I wonder if the people most afraid of seeing nudity and sex, are the people with most lust....

Apparently you're still too young to know that the Grandfather's on this sight may.

I hope to get to start watching the Good Doctor soon because I know it looks good and I've heard some great reviews.

I've caught a couple of episodes and I enjoy it.

Why ya'll give this man PHart such a hard time? He ain't totally wrong, he's actually a good bit right. I guess I could just be a bit of a pessimist, I just accept it as the reality that I was born into and that we live in. I mean sex and TV/movies is a big subject especially right now with almost daily news of another actor or director or big TV/Movie person being exposed or confessing to some lurid sex scandal. Kinda leaves little to wonder why TV and movies are so sexualized. Art imitating life, or life trying to imitate art, a pretty classic motif.
Yeah, he's probably just having a brain Phart. :)

In my opinion, Magenta is the most spiritual and credible member on this site. Nowhere in her posts on this thread did she once promote pornography.

I don't really watch a lot of tv nowadays because of so much garbage reality drama shows being thrown out there. But I like The Flash.

My family likes the older shows from the 70's era, we don't like anything really modern.

Thanks for the mental image. :p

I don't really watch TV shows. I do watch The Simpsons and Family Guy a lot.

The last "recent" show I watched was Dexter. Boy, did I love that show.
I knew of someone who loved Dexter. She was a Canadian of Russian parentage. Anyway, her taste was atrocious and her personality about as interesting as watching paint dry. She would post lists of things she ate that day.

Well I definitely have that one thing in common with her. :p
I think it is best if others judge the dullness or effervescence of one’s personality. I am sure the people who think they are fascinating are tedious.

I am talking about myself, and not making any implications about you or anyone else.

The same probably holds true for people who think they are boring, they are probably rather interesting.
