There is a tradition in this country that it is only acceptable for a woman to propose to a man during a leap year on Feb. 29. Personally, I have no problem with it.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with a woman proposing to a man; it is certainly a significant statement of how she esteems him. Hopefully she does genuinely esteem him and not see him as some sort of meal ticket.

If the man has not proposed, there is probably a reason why, even if the reason is only, "I haven't thought about it yet."

However, the reason may be deeper. He may have legitimate questions about the "quality" of the lady. He may not be "settled" on that one lady. He may have deeper emotional issues that are really better resolved prior to marriage.

I would suggest that it's better for the woman to pray about it (first and foremost!) and to broach the subject gently with the man. The purpose is to explore the subject in a safe environment. At that point, if he shuts down the subject, she does well to walk away. It's more likely that his concerns will be brought to light, whether or not they are "legitimate". If nothing else, they can both be honest about their feelings and concerns. That alone is great preparation for being married.

    Dont know what you think.

If a couple have been together for a while.

I would probably suggest that the lady ask “Where do you see this relationship going?

In the Bible, the man would have been the one to propose to the woman. But that was culture, not religion. So it really doesn't matter either way

Well time for my input ahem... You see having a girl propose to me would be in a way flattering ig maybe BUT I do not think any guy who is supposed to lead (cuz we totally are even if we don't want to) would want a girl to propose it's almost insulting at least to me I'd rather her punch me or something to make me propose lol. More importantly the word of God says clearly in like the first book of the bible i think a man shall leave his mother and cleave to a wife not the wife to the man no no shhh we are supposed to propose or even start to try to date you asking you out etc. But even more importantly pretty much anywhere in the bible where a women seeks a man its considered immoral..... I dont think this was simply culture though i thinks its simply responsible and think about Christ relationship to the church the church didn't say "God will you marry me" nah they actually were pretty much the opposite but God Jesus he engaged first and men represent Christ and women represent the Church as said multiple times in the bible. Hopefully that all makes sense. Also i don't say this simply because its my opinion i say it because of the word of agod except like the first part that's completely me xD.

I guess if I am dating someone the person in question would know that I would like to marry if he felt the same way, and then I would wait for him to take the initiative. For an impatient person, I can be very understanding. If the person I was to date was a man, then a man should know to take the initiative.

Yea he should xD. Giving men hints though doesn't hurt mainly before you start "dating" let's be honest guys can be pretty dumb sometimes we just dont know if you like us other times we just dont know how to approach you without looking like a player ig? Im trying to make excuses for men let me live.... Men sadly especially Christian men tend to be very awkward so marriage or not let him know what you want without telling him you women are good at that cx

Well. As I am not dating, it is all very hypothetical. To be honest I am not sure if my ex husband really proposed. We just agreed on going to a restaurant to get engaged. And, as he was a man of few words, he just gave me the box with the ring I had been at the jewlery's with him to buy.

thanks every one ones again. You all has done grate. Let us start from here to see if we can it straight. The Bible said a man shall leave his parents and cleave to the wife and the twain will be come one flesh. dose it me that a woman will not live the parents. if that is the case, it is the woman that cause the man to leave his parents. let us not go deep into this in other not to deceive some people who dont know where we are heading to. in this verse we are talking of CLEAVE. which means 'STICK OR CLING'. but in the other way round we are talking about PROPOSAL. WHICH MEAN 'WILL YOU MARRY ME?. Now before the cleave whos right to say. If we chack it from this verse it seem as if it is the one who cause another to leave the parents. But may we not consider this logic in other not make people to move out of the truth. let us reason more and find why it is man to propose.

Didn't Ruth bascaly "propose" to Boaz in a sense? She laid at his feet and was like "sooo... you realize you're our near kinsman???? Know what that means ??? "
Then he was like "ah yes.... let's work this thing out with the nearer kinsman so we can proceed and get hitched"

Then BOOM there ya have it! Happily married :P

If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.
