I've been thinking lately about some of the questions out there that ruffle the feathers of fellow Christians, but...the real question is will they matter in eternity ? Will it help lead someone to Christ, or is it just something else to argue about?

I'll give an example of a few things I'm referring to.

1. Did Adam and Eve have a bellybutton?

2. Where did Cain get his wife ?

3. Is the Earth round or flat ?

4. What came first the chicken , or the egg ?

Maybe these questions are more important than I think.... what do you think ? Is there any importance in questions like these and can you think of any others ?

let the record show

chicken before egg

adam did have a belly button

the earth has round elements and flat elements

and cain married someone who had the same ancestors as himself

probably something like a niece or sister ....

they lived a lot longer back then and having children with blood relatives was different back then which explains a lot

.....

and smooth faces win because my beard game is weak

Sometimes I think God pranked us human beings back in the days of Eden.

He must have said to Himself: What if I add arguing when creating those...what was it again...hun...hur...humans!

Yes! I'll make them as imperfect as they come. Greedy, evil, lustful and a lot of stuff I don't care for myself.

So, first I make this thing called male. Not sure yet what purpose he will serve, but we'll get to that shortly.

Uh oh...I'll create another male as well, to speed things up...

oh...it's something wrong with that picture?!

The male needs someone to keep him in place...another male will just become his drinking buddy and they'll end up in a honky tonk.

And that's why God made the Lady:p.

LOL

One thing that likely won't matter is parts of your body that you see as either too big or too small.

2. Where did Cain get his wife ?

This is a question often asked by non-believers in their quest to denigrate the narratives of Genesis, and call into question the morality involved regarding Cain marrying/mating with a close relative. While it is true it is not an issue that affects our salvation, as Christians we should be able to accept what the Bible teaches, as well as find satisfactory answers to these questions.

Researching to find answers to this question has been very interesting for me :) For instance, we do not know how old Cain was when he married, which means he could have had many nieces and great nieces to wed, and not have had to marry a direct sister (even though there were no laws against such at that time). Plus people often want to say that because Cain "knew" his wife in Nod, that he met her there, and how could people be there if A&E were the first humans? But again, we do not know how many years passed between the expulsion from Eden and the time Cain wed. Population growth charts suggest there could easily have been hundreds of thousands of people by the time Cain was a couple hundred years old, which would have resulted in migration. Plus, Cain did not necessarily meet his wife in Nod, but simply consummated the marriage there :D

I believe Cain is a natural born member of that how to make your date run to the hills thread...imagine when she asks him about Abel, and, his parents that are registered homeless with the census bureau.

Poor gal probably would still be running...

No google, no worries

Some things that won't matter in eternity...
That's how I've come to feel about six day creation in six 24-hour days. Could God have created the universe in six 24-hour days? Yes. Could he have created the universe over the course of billions of years? Yes. So whether it was six 24-hour days or six billion years is merely a curiosity to me. Someday I'll ask him which it was. :)
