They don’t think. Their brains are actually not fully developed. They have no clue about long term consequences. This is why they do such silly things. I had an episode in my class last year of a kid sniffing salt because another kid told him to do it. The sniffer had red eyes- I examined the salt and tasted it (like I would know what cocaine tasted like). They just don’t know how to think about the long term.
