This is a general questions about us humans. If you have the answer, how different would the world be if it was the opposite?

I'd like the world to be more like my positive attributes—but without picking up my bad habits. If this came to fruition the world would spend more time reading and studying the bible, be more honest, there wouldn't be wars (I hate war), and would strive to obey the ten commandments. But if it came as a package deal with my bad attributes as well, the world unfortunately would sometimes lose its temper, drink too much, smoke a tobacco pipe, be a bit opinionated and haughty, and spend a lot of time goofing around on the Internet.

So I don't think the world would be any better off with my characteristics. We need to find a better person. Hey, how about that guy we crucified 2,000 years ago? lol :)

One day the work of conforming us to His image will be completed. Come Lord Jesus.

If everyone was like me, it would be one hell of a world...
You think that now,but I have a hunch that you'll change from that mentality just as I did,and I believe you might have more of the holy spirit than even me in time, strong hunches but well who knows, one thing is evident time and circumstances have a tendency to change people.

Your question is similar to the question the Holy Spirit often presents to my heart: "What are you asking Me to do, change (person or circumstance), or change you?"

It's a hypothetical question that reminds me I'm holding onto something other than God. So I always reply, "Change me."

Then I let go of expectations and I'm free in Christ again. Mind you, this is a regular thing with me. :p The Lord has to keep reminding me all the time. I'm so glad He's faithful! :)

In some ways I wish more people were like me (polite, considerate, kind, compassionate, give to the homeless, etc.)....

But in other ways I wish I was more like most people my age (financially independent, have a social life, have a significant other, have good friends that they can spend time with in real life, etc.)..

I firmly believe the world would be better if others were more like me in many ways. However if everyone were just like me we'd probably all be crushed under the weight of our impossibly high expectations, no one would be producing any art, and the human race would probably die out because I don't get this whole romance and coupling up thing (though it's possible if everyone was like me I'd find more people I would at least maybe be interested in figuring that out with, but it's also possible we'd all hermit up and never meet each other.... difficult to say how that would play out).

Number 12 Looks Just Like You is another good one about this topic.

Or even Eye Of The Beholder.
Yeah that's a disturbingly powerful ending.

in #12 they say "All is one, and one is all" and reference many other new-age/antichrist agendas.

As I get older, I'm finding that God seems to do an interesting thing when I pray that other people would be more this or that (a quality that I apparently think I already have.)

One of my personal pet peeves is stealing, so whenever I see evidence of employees or customers stealing and getting away with it, I always pray that God will bless them with a clean conscience (because in order to have a clean conscience, one's actions, in fact, must be also be clean.)

I don't know how or if it affects the ones I pray for, but I know that a peculiar thing always happens to me: I start noticing things like pens, sheets of paper, paper clips, etc. in my bag or car that came from work (and therefore, aren't really mine), and God convicts me to return them. I had once taken a bunch of rubber bands and used them at home, so God convicted me to buy a bag on my own and just put them in with the supplies at work.

Now I'm almost afraid to pray that anyone else would supposedly be "changed" into what I personally would want for them to be, because I know God is going to raise the bar for my own life as a result.

Instead, I find myself looking around for people I want to be like... and hoping that God will help me change enough to more like them.

Ditto, but I don't want to have to go through all of what she's gone through to become that way.

Ah, Cinder, such powers of observation... Thank you. :D

Seriously, y'all.

You do NOT want to be like me: I'm mean. I'm ornery. I'm ill-tempered (kind of like Dr. Evil's pet sharks... you know, the ones with laser beams attached to their heads, via "Austin Powers.")

As if that weren't bad enough, I'm also the kid who was voted, "Most Likely to be Kicked Out of Sunday School (For Asking Too Many Questions.") And it was the TEACHERS who took the vote.

Thank you for the compliment, but following me would only lead you down a winding path to the dark side. (And just forget the rumors about the dark side having cookies, because taking them all for myself was the first thing I did when I got here.) :p
