Hey Everyone,

Just as a bit of humor, dedicated to anyone who is having a tough day...

For some reason, today I was thinking about some of the things in this world that I just don't trust.

For instance...

* Clowns. What could be more frightening than a grown man dressed in blindingly clashing colors, frilly pom pom and ruffles, and goes around honking a beepy red nose? That's not funny, that's just frightening (especially if he has jagged teeth and are named "Pennywise...")

I don't trust clowns.

* Spam. Just one step above clowns, except that they try to pass it off as something "edible." *shudder* I'm pretty sure the ingredients in two cans of Spam are never quite the same, because they make it out of any leftovers that happen to be available that day. (Ever wonder what really happened to poor little Billy's pet goldfish? The makers of Spam had a quota to meet.)

I don't trust Spam, or anything that claims to be "meat".... and comes in a can. (Why does that sound like line from Dr. Seuss...)

* Vending machines. For some reason, I've always been a bit apprehensive about vending machines. I'm always certain that the product is going to get stuck and rip me off (and I'm not quite strong enough to shake the entire machine into giving me what I want), or that when I actually reach into the supposed magic dispensing tray of the machine to claim my prize, it's going to chop my hand off, just like in some kind of horror movie.

I don't trust vending machines.

* And finally... I can't help but think of a bit of advice a lovely older woman at church once doled out with a wink: "Honey, never trust a man who says, 'Just trust me,' even if you've been married to him for 15 years. That's how we got our youngest child."

Lol.

Well. I'm not going to say I wouldn't trust my husband at the time (if I ever find him), but... you know. :)

Serious or silly...

What are some things in this world that you just don't trust?

Products that say, “New and Improved!” often turn out not as good as before. It’s usually that they replaced original ingredients with cheaper or generic elements to save themselves money, added a different fragrance to pass it off as “newer”, or modified the packaging, and hiked up the price because it’s now “better” somehow. :p

"Never trust spiritual leader who cannot dance."
~Mr. Miyagi

Though I trust my pastor a lot, and I've never seen him dance. He can play basketball pretty good though. Does that count?

A clown trying to sing in what sounds to be a mock-opera voice?

Definitely not trusting this one.

Puddles needs to just piddle-paddle on his way.

I'm loving the new picture, but I probably shouldn't trust someone with an avatar of Jack Sparrow.

Awesome thread Seoulsearch!

I don't trust anyone who cannot appear on a video call on the internet. In this day and age, with every computer and phone with a camera, there are very few excuses for someone to say they can't verify if they really are who they say they are.

Also as a PSA, I would like people to beware if these catfishes give you concessions like "kik live pictures", "snapchat stories". Those kind of things are so obviously fake-able. Unless they appear on a video call and wave their hands in any which direction you say - they are fake.

And don't fall for those stupid sob stories like "I have a history I can't appear on video", "The mafia is after me", "I made a vow", "I am a spy"... tell them to keep that baloney to themselves.

I don't trust professors.
Sorry... I should have made a disclaimer in my original post...

What are the reasons why you don't trust these things or people?

Was it that you had a bad experience yourself, or heard something negative about them?

For anyone else who posts... please tell us WHY you don't trust... what you don't trust.:cool:;)

I can never really trust anybody who has intentionally hurt me for any reason.

Well crud-ola, man.

Rachel just knocked the wind out of ALL my favorite excuses for not appearing on camera (never mind my avatar picture...)

I guess I am no longer allowed to share the baloney. MAJOR sadness. :(:(:(

Welp, I guess all I'm going to be able to do from now on is sit here and write threads, because there went my entire social life... :(

(Seriously, Rachel... this was a fantastic post with some very practical advice--thank you so much. And, I promise to keep all the baloney to myself... but only if it's Oscar Mayar. :))

Seoulsearch - I love ya!

You are a beautiful woman - inside and out. I am secretly glad you would write more threads but share that Oscar Mayar around !

I have to admit that I'm pretty greedy because I keep all the brand-name stuff for myself. (I'm pretty sure this is why the mafia is after me... because I'm hoarding brand-name baloney...)

But don't you worry, Rachel (and thank you so much :))--there's PLENTY of generic (and/or store brand) baloney to go around, and I am more than willing to share. ;)

(And, love you too! :) <3)

What??? The dude has a killer voice and a cult following. He's not 'mock singing' anything. He legit sings like that. That's his normal singing voice.

1. Yes. It doesn't surprise me at all that a guy looking like that would be the leader... of a cult. Makes perfect sense. :p

2. Show me a video in which good ol' Puddles pulls off that dance in the "Chandelier" video just like Maddie Ziegler, and I'll be sure to give him at least two stars (or was that, two honks of a beepy red nose...)

Actually I have a reason I can't be on camera. My ThinkPad (T510) doesn't have a camera! Can you believe it? My T420 two feet away from it has a camera, but it is my music making computer running Winblows and I am NOT letting it online. But a laptop without a camera... first time I noticed it I couldn't believe it. Every laptop these days has a camera. Even other T510 models have cameras. But not this one.

Now if you call me on my smartphone, THAT has cameras, plural. I'm not much to look at though, so don't get your hopes up.
