For 2010 I have committed to an all year long fast off of dating!! Just to focus on me, myself and God :) ..yes I do get lonely. That's why I try to stay as far away as possible from Romantic movies lol otherwise I go nuts ..but'taaa in May I was starting to get doubt about my whole commitment, yuh know? Well I had it in my heart to read my Teen Devotional(which I haven't read in days) so I get to one of the pages I had missed and you would not belieeeve what it said! Blaine B.(the pastor who wrote the book) told a little story of how when he was 18 he too was tired of picking out all these girls(but for me boys) that in the relationships, never worked out. So the new year came around and he ended up giving that whoooole year to no dating! Well 6 months go by after he had completed thatpast year, and guess who he met :) Cynthia! Who is his wife today!! He goes on to say how perfect she was for him, how.. every little detail was exactly what he always wanted. After I heard that, I was goin crazy! It's amazing how when you put God first, He'll give you His best!!! Truly, too! Ah, Lord.. You're amazing.

So I encourage you guys to remember in your loneliest days, to put God first and just trust Him that He knows who is BEST for you! I did and I'm 15, so that means you totally can.

Paul does say that we are all better off single haha it's true.. but I've seen a relationship between a man and a woman that has such a love for God, and in each other, that they don't really worry about pleasing one another. I also have seen a relationship where it started out as one a Christian and the other not, which in a year turned into a trio including God! Both kinds of relationships can work, if you got the love of God and the steadiness, then just say, "Daddy, if I'm ready..send him/her my way!"

Haha, if I committed to the same for 2010, then it would make this year no different than 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000... I think you all get the point, lol.

But, in all seriousness, I think it's a good idea. You've got years and years ahead of you in which to date, so it's good to take this time to strengthen your relationship with Christ. :)

I'm totally in the same boat. I could make a resolution to not date for a year but I haven't dated in 27 years, so I don't know that it would have much of an effect on me. :p

Haha, sure. Let me just hop on a plane, and I'll be there in about 20 hours or so. But I might need to take a nap first. :p

Lol, exactly. I'm curious as to how this "falling into relationships" takes place. I've heard of such, but never experienced it myself. It sounds...unbelievable. J/k. :)

never experienced the dating scene, been in 3 long term relationships where circumstances aligned and and we hooked up, and were together for years, not really ideal I know, but God did a lot of good things in and through the relationships, but I will never enter a relationshipship again without knowing that they are my life partner, and Gods choice for me. Been single now for 7 years :D and never been in a better place in myself, in God, and in life. If it wasn't for the fact that I know it's His will for me to marry and have a family I wouldn't bother, cause I have all I need in Him ;D
