I’ve gotten plenty of weird questions from folks. I don’t know if you’d consider them compliments or insults. But off the top of my head, here are a few.

Why do you make weird facial expressions a lot? (Because I’m holding my tongue a lot & trying not to express every thought that pops into my head.)

Are you Mulatto? (Not that I’m aware of. Why?)
wait what.jpg

How come you don’t ever wear high heels? (Because then you’d be four MORE inches shorter than me.)
giraffe.jpg

Why do you talk to yourself all the time? (Actually, I’m talking with God all the time.)

Is that a wig or your real hair? (Real.. it’s just got a life of its own.)

One morning I was groggily getting ready for work and didn't feel like trying to comb my hair. So I just took a wet cloth and pulled it over my hair to at least keep it all laying down. I never really looked in the mirror to see what I did to it...

I was at work a short time when a female co-worker came over to me and out of the blue said "I like it when you comb your hair that way. It looks good." I never get compliments from women my age, so I was feeling pretty good the rest of the day!

As far as insults, after graduating from college I was pretty much cut off from about fifteen friends all at once (I have never been into social media). So needless to say I was going through a time of transition and sadness. I sat at the dinner table with my family one day when my dad took one look at me and said "What's wrong with you anyway? Why don't you ever smile? Is life really that bad?" That wasn't a happy mealtime...

Strangest things ever said to me in church while I was in
the worship team.

“Oh you are a lovely girl and play the saxophone so well, even if you
dont wear lipstick!”

“Orange suits you, you should wear it more and you should
wear more skirts to show off your legs.”

”That necklace is nice, it shows off your ethnicity.”
(Said when I wore a necklace with wooden beads, never wore
it again.)

“Black really suits you, it makes you look like a sassy night club
jazz player.”

Err right, thanks I think!

My ex girlfriend, whom I dated back in High School was bored one friday night and was laying on my couch at my Mom and Dad's house wathing T.V. with me cuddling (yes, mostly cuddling), "I love your tenderness," she said,"... it makes me able to love you a lot." The more I thought about that sentence, the more it was not so great. In fact the more and more I thought about that sentence - it became a horrible memory.

That was weird to me.... I'm still not sure if it was me she had a problem "getting to" love, or if it was her inability to communicate that determined our "ex" status today. Hmmm... ??.

Probably the weirdest insult I’ve ever gotten was from an ex as a teenager. He told me I was a waste of fat and flesh. I mulled that one over for quite a while...did he mean that as in I was actually fat, or just a useless person? Would my fat have been less wasteful had it belonged to somebody with worthier flesh? Could I get away with slashing his tires? I mean, I got over it, but at the time I thought it was a heck of a thing for him to say to me.

The strangest compliment I can think of wasn’t verbal at all- it was an action, and it was strange because it came from my step-dad, who has always treated me like I’m kind of an airhead (well. I’ll be honest. I kind of am. But not all the time...). When I started fixing up furniture to sell it, everyone I know kind of rolled their eyes about it or ignored it altogether. Which is what my step-dad has done about most of my interests. Except this time, he got involved- he found furniture pieces for me to do, he cut new pieces for broken things or glued things in place to make sure it was all structurally sound before he brought them out to me.

This from a man who never does anything he thinks is a waste of time. Even my mom noticed and told me he must think I do good work. So, that one means a lot to me.

By the way l, some of y’all’s posts have had me cracking up :p

Most of my times being dumped involved some variation of "you're a great guy" and "I love you".
Two separate exes told me, while dating, along the lines of "I'd be crazy to ever leave you" and "what's wrong with all these women you dated before dumping you? They must not have seen what I see". Note... I was dumped by both women.

So... a compliment and an insult at the same time?

I pray out loud too! I don;t know why but it feels better to talk to him like that. Maybe like your best friend is in the room with you.

There is power in prayer, and there is power in the spoken word. Power x2 when you put them together!

That's a good place to know your way around! Would you have preferred it if they had said you really knew your way around a JUNK food section? :p

I have been for real proposed to more than once by people I didn't really know. Once I was working at Arby's and this customer would always come in and tell me how much he loved me. (He was on the autism spectrum.) I was always super nice to him and would sometimes even give him a hug. After about 3 months of coming in every to every other day, he finally proposed to me at the cash register -ring and all. I had always joked with my co-workers that "my boyfriend" was late. Little did I realize, they thought I was serious, so there I was with my co-workers and all of the customers standing around clapping and smiling and "awww"ing. It was awful. I didn't want to make him feel bad. I didn't want to say yes to save him from being embarrassed and then take it back. I still feel awful about it.

Another time, I started walking home from a job in the mall. This guy in a really nice suit who had been trying to flirt with me everyday that week kept following me asking me to be his wife. I didn't even know his name. I started walking faster. I went outside in the rain, through the parking lot, and was standing in the grassy/muddy area waiting to cross the street. He had followed me, and finally threw himself on his knees in the mud begging me to at least take his number. He looked so pathetic in the rain. People were driving by and staring. There were people waiting for the bus watching and I just knew they were going to think I was an awful person. I finally accepted his number after begging him to get off his knees and to please leave me alone.

People are crazy.

A weird compliment was like when i was talking to some girl i think and one of them was like you have nice teeth....i have a chipped tooth and they are kinda crooked so I'm like whaaaa? How? And i barely heard here so for a while i didn't know what she said but yea was kimda weird ig idk.

A weird or mean insult....it happened like a couple days ago this cop was taking a lady off the bus and as she was being carried out a cop asked the people in the back ,where i was, if we were ok one by one until he gets to me and hes like " ma'am?" And im like yea im good.....and someone I work with is just dying inside and I'm like really? Do I really look that much like a female? Like i know I'm pretty but bruhhh no IM NOT A GIRL!! Or was that an insult? Oh well i felt like it was....or when someone told me my eyes were too far apart i was like gonna cry for weeks even though everyone said i looked fine i was totally freaking oit i was in like sixth grade I think

And I find a lot annoying like when people call me a girl..... still pretty mad about that one, OH WAIT I was at school like a year ago and like multiple people asked me if i liked boys girls or both like bruh? I like females JUST FEMALES do you know how awkward it feels to have a guy ask you if you like guys? Do you know how much i wanted to kick him across the school? Or when i was running track, i was forced to by my football coach for next year of football, and i ran a race and i don't like running for basically no reason so i came in fourth barely and some girl were talkimg to men as I was walking up to the bleachers, I didn't know them, and their like" you did good but you were crying"...... HOW DO YOU WEIRD PEOPLE RUN WITH ALL THIS WIND IN YOUR EYES AND NOT HAVE LIKE THEM WATER UP? I also have allergies so that might've been it but yea so i looked like a crybaby on top of the fact that I had to wear those stupid shorts that basically looked like boxer briefs like dude those things should be illegal
