Tell me your views, thoughts, experiences :)

The youngest I’ve dated was 5 years younger than me but yet he was very mature, I would’ve been 25 at the time and he 19/20 years.

Does age matter?
Should it matter? (Obviously it would matter if you’re a minor).

Honestly it depends on the person. And of course they both need to be legal.

So if you were 30 yrs old...... you’d date someone who’s 20? Or does that apply for the present time?

I prefer someone closer to my age so that we have something in common. My wife is 17 days older than me so I guess I prefer older women.

I've heard men my age say they would love to go on a date with a hot, young chick around 21 years old, which is ridiculous! If I was single and had a wild hair to go on a date with a hot, young chick, I would be thinking like 35-40. lol

It doesn't matter anyway because even though my wife is my age, she will always be my hot, young chick! :)

Prior to getting married, I always had relationships with women my own age. I agree with Pipp - "it depends on the person. And of course they both need to be legal."

But could you have something in common with someone younger or much older? For example, sharing the hobby of hunting, cars, art, playing an instrument etc?

Well...I'm in a rather awkward age to answer this question! At 18, there could be some legal complications with dating someone younger because they're not of age. But age matters more in the teen years, and the youngest guy I've been interested in was 1 1/2 years younger than me.

As for older, my dad candidly told me he would flip out if a 26-year-old man asked to date me ;). Personally, I don't think I have a problem with an 8-year age gap, especially as I matured fast and men (in general) mature more slowly than women.

Speaking from the vantage point of my hypothetical 35-year-old self, I'd say I wouldn't have a problem with 6 or 8 years either way.

Can't see myself dating someone in their 40's or older, but if she's a few years younger or older than me, then I wouldn't see a problem. :)

I came up with this rule for comfort. It makes good sense for me. :)

He cannot be younger than my little brother (born in 93) or older than my mother (born in 66).

It would be uncomfortable for me to date a guy younger than my brother...and even more uncomfortable for him to be older than my mom.

I somehow can't see that rule working for me...I have no younger brothers, and my mum was 42 when I was born .

I agree, I don’t think I’d date someone who’s close to my pops age too.
