6) Ask Lynx for recommendations for audio equipment for said studio.
7) Buy Lynx an 88-key MIDI keyboard as thanks for his assistance. :D :D :D

I don't know anything about noise-dampening materials for use in constructing the recording booth, but I know gear.
You can have my MIDI keyboard. I don’t even use it LOL.

Buy some land near the mountains in Wyoming or East TN. Build the world's coolest combination gun range and mountain bike trail system on my ranch.

Buy my friends Subarus.

Fund up-and-coming artists, authors, film-makers, etc. Combine that with a Gary Sinise-style service to veterans of all our useless wars. Donate heavily to reputable autism research programs.

I'd also fund political campaigns for good, viable candidates who can't find donors in those states without fundraising limits.

But yeah, I'd mostly do what I do now, I think. I'm happy with my array of hobbies and interests.
Subarus...... pretty expensive to maintain them. I know cause I have one :(

I would buy 1) a baroque bassoon, 2) a straight selmer Mark VI soprano saxophone 3) a Buffet copper altosaxophone 4)a new kitchen 5) a new bookcase

I don't have to very rich to buy either of them... but they are on my list. Kitchen first, though. I don't really need any of the other things I have listed but just one of them would make me extremely happy. (Santa, I hope you are reading this... and my birthday is coming up soon... So. Anyone who wants to win my heart: I am not a girl that would die for diamonds. Give me a music instrument, and I am one happy woman)

I think its time for some fun topics...

If I were rich I would buy me an old retired fighter jet so I could aerobatics in it.. :D

How rich is rich?

I have degrees of wanting to be rich.

If I were a little richer, I'd pay an editor to fix my novel, then pay an illustrator to illustrate it, and then vanity press it.

If I was richer than that, I'd get someone to "fix" my backyard -- put in mongo planters and a nice fence.

If I were richer than that, I'd do a complete redo on my house while taking a cruise for a month.

If I were super rich, I'd start a charity to help fund folks when they're stuck between being disabled and becoming accepted into SSDI, so they can live without income for 5 months to 5 years.

AND, I'd make a workshop for the vets living at the nursing home, to give them something to do with their hands. (Most of the vets are in wheelchairs.)

I have to say, I've always been curious if, let's say I won one of those Uber Crazy Mega Ridiculous Lotteries (which is impossible, because I never play any kind of lottery), but what if I won something like 500 million dollars?

Being adopted (abandoned as an infant) with no history and no way to find my birth family... I have always wondered how many people would start lining up in order to claim that they were a relative of mine. I would start handing out DNA tests left and right--shoot, they could probably even turn it into a reality show--but even then, I'm a firm believer in family being what you make it rather than DNA, because I don't have any known blood ties.

After reading about all the trouble others with gobs of money have run into, I've always said that the first things I'd buy would be: 1. the best legal team money could buy, because anyone and their mother would try to sue you; 2. a private island, where only my friends and family could find me; and 3. the best set of accountants/financial planners I could possibly hire, because I would invest the money, cap it off with a budget, touch relatively little of the principal, and keep passing it down through the family (and heaven help the person who would squander it and break the chain.)

Churches, charities, and people I would spend it on would be the ones I already spend my time and resources on now and have been with me all my life.

When I was going through a really rough time, I decided to make a major move in order to start a new life, but at the time, I was so depressed that I couldn't do anything more than drag myself to work.

A good friend of mine (despite being married and having her own family to take care of) came over and literally packed up my entire house for me while keeping me company. She literally saved me thousands of dollars in what it would have cost to pay someone else to do it. As soon as I could, I sent her a small gift, but it fell far short of covering everything she did.

If I ever came into that kind of money, one major thing on my list would be to take this friend shopping for a new house as a payback... and let her pick out whatever the hee haw she wanted.

However, in all honesty... She's the kind of person who would say, "Eh. Just come visit me for a week instead."
Heads up on that lottery ticket. I think there is just as much a chance of me winning the lottery by buying the ticket as there is for the Lord to have the winning ticket blow into my hand. And, because of that, I don't walk outside with my hands in a fist.

This isn't necessary. :)
Seriously, JL. If Tourist says it's not necessary, it's really not necessary. (If hubby doesn't see it, nothing to see.)

If I were a rich man I would buy myself a new coffee mug.
Here's one I bet I could talk you into. Another of my "rich schemes."

I would love to buy an island big enough that I'm not feeling stuck there, but small enough that there would never be any reason for a store on the island. It would come with a few comfortable houses, a dock, beach, and diving board, to go swimming or fishing all you'd like to. Stuff to do. A garden, maybe, a workshop, definitely internet connection, and a kitchen. And by all means INDOOR PLUMBING!

Put us on that island for four months. Spouses and family can come too, although they might not want to for the first 1-3 weeks, but they can come or even stay with us. We can do anything we'd like to do, except one small thing...

No tobacco allowed! Can't sneak it in, can't go buy it, can't bribe anyone to get us some, and cannot quit staying there. All we have to do is endure those four months.

And when we're done? The next smokers get the same deal!

What do you think?

With my luck, I'd go out to buy a baroque bassoon and come home with a broke buffoon. lol

Good. I will buy America with all the extra money.
Don't bother. It's more hassle than it is worth. Total Cost of Ownership is what you should look at when making any big purchase. Like a car for example, the TCO is how often it is likely to break down, need repairs, need servicing, how much it will cost to get it serviced each time, etc. The TCO for America is... exorbitant.

Also everybody will complain, no matter what you decide to do with it. Why do you think we have our current president? We couldn't get anybody else to take the job! We have better people for the job but they all refused. Every single person who would be a better president said the same thing - "Nope, that job would be like driving a bus where every passenger has a brake... then they all complain that we're not going anywhere."

Trust me, do NOT buy America.

You want Europe? (I can think of no country or continent I'd ever want to own. An unoccupied island, sure, but a whole bunch of people living in my land? Way. Too. Much. Hassle! lol)
