Stand up, stay frosty, and be a gentleman. Women will appreciate it. And, if for some reason, you're falsely accused, you'll have a convincing truth to fall back on.
This is so true. How do you know so much about what many women are thinking? I find it extremely attractive whenever a man is acting like a true gentleman. To a lady a man is strong and confident, and if a man like that is treating her with respect, she will appreciate it. If only men knew how much that means. If a woman is treating a gentleman in a bad way, then she’s no lady.

Thank you all for the replies!

I'm really glad to see some discussion about this topic.

I know that the main focus of the #MeToo movement is the entertainment industry, but anyone who works in a number of other fields, even retail or food service (waiting tables, etc.) will tell you that such behavior is something they are expected to put up with, sometimes on a daily basis, if they want to keep their jobs--which is preposterous. My hope is that having the spotlight on such actions might "trickle" down into hopefully making positive changes in other areas as well.

I was also thinking about the repercussions for not just men, but women as well.

A long time ago, I read a dating profile from a guy who WAS very good-looking, and apparently, he knew that very well. One of the first things he wrote in his profile was, "If you're the type of girl that everyone says 'has a great personality', don't bother contacting me."

Alrighty then!!! I couldn't help but wonder if someone like this... Might try to claim that any woman who didn't meet his sky-high standards (like me, lol) was harassing him.

Desdichado, loved your comments about men and women acting appropriately towards each other in Christ--thank you so much for posting!

I really appreciate the conversation we have going here and am hope it will continue.

If it feels like you can't feel anything, are you still feeling something?

That's the upside of this MeToo stuff. It makes people aware of this crap happening. But it suffers a lot because of its entertainment industry origin.

I almost wish the movement had started with... oh, medical staff, or middle school teachers, or waitresses, or some other place. Not that I would WANT anybody in any field to be harassed, but with it starting in the entertainment business people are already used to TV and movie stars having drama-filled and publicized lives. It makes a real problem into "there goes Hollywood again, stirring up trouble just to get more fame and money."

Then when women with legitimate complaints try to use this movement to get justice, all they have is yet another cheap movement started by the stars. :-/

Sadly the me too movement reminds me a lot of the Salem witch trials. Anyone you don't like you can accuse and even if they're proven innocent the the damage is done. Don't get me wrong I'm in no way saying I think everyone accused is innocent. I personally know how evil some people can be ... Im just afraid a lot of innocent people will end up being accused .
If a person has ugly thoughts, it begins to show on the face. And when that person has ugly thoughts every day, every week, every year, the face gets uglier and uglier until you can hardly bear to look at it.

A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.

Yeah, I have an issue when justice is attached so neatly to socio-political trends.

    I agree.

History has shown that all times have had its “witches”.

Mankind needs to blame somebody, and that habit is hard to break.
