My preferred method of communication would be Morse Code.

If that's not available, I can settle with Base64.

Interpretative dance.

Not really. I wish I were more graceful because dancing is such a beautiful art. I like to sing to express myself but not in front of people.

If you don't think everyone is a racist, take a look around society. People self-segregate. I noticed it in Junior high, and it continues to this day. All the black kids sit on one side of the cafeteria, while the whites are on the other. Same goes for where middle-class families, choose to live, and even shopping malls they choose to visit.

Scientific research has been done on race and preferences to familiarity.
I guess it’s different for where I live. It’s very multicultured here. I mean, there are racists, but then there arent.

I enjoy talking with people, and I enjoy writing tremendously. But the way I express myself best is with my hands: I like to do things for people and make them happy. Hugging people; making things for them like greeting cards or crafts; cooking special meals, breads, & desserts; helping people out with simple tasks or even big projects (I recently helped my son install a rear window in his BMW); or just showing kindness to people I meet throughout the day. I feel so blessed when I’m given an opportunity to make someone smile and feel loved.

Ah, words...

As for me, I usually use words. Occasionally my music-nerd brain will automatically turn up a song that says it better than I could have said it, so I will quote the song instead. Fortunately I can sing on-key, so it's usually not too tortuous for the other person in the conversation.

I would gladly communicate via carrier pigeon if they were still available.

Something about sending secret messages behind enemy lines using air mail just sounds very romantic to me.

In the last couple of years I found that I express myself through the clothing I wear. There are times where I am not feeling 100% or struggling with some things I dress up like I may choose to wear a skirt or even lately it's a dress. When I am comfortable with having good conversation I wear jeans and quite possibly a sweatshirt. I've been learning to communicate using my words and I will admit it's been quite a challenge and when I've been emotional I choose to keep to myself...not quite sure if that's a good thing or not ;)

Manofmen, Seoul may not have removed you. People fall off lists rather often without anyone removing them. In any case, u probably should have PM'ed her about it, rather than airing it on the public board. :)

Hi manofmen,

Allow me to give a public answer to your public accusations.

You sent me a private message out of the blue asking if we could get to know each other, but you had no posting history and I knew nothing about you. You also later asked me to chat via another site.

I explained to you that I prefer to get to know people over the forum over a span of time, and you said that was understandable.

I have friends here (other women) who had said that you'd PM'ed them as well.

1. I don't write to people I don't get to know around the forum first. I realize this is unfair if someone is just a regular in the CC chat rooms and doesn't post, but I prefer to at least learn a little about someone who is willing to give some information about themselves publicly before I agree to start talking privately, even just on this site.

2. I never chat with people I meet here on other sites unless I have known them for a considerable amount of time on CC first, and know a little bit about them, with other people on the site being able to verify that the person seems to be who they say they are.

3. I don't write to men who seem to be writing several random women the same generic message and hoping for replies. I understand it, but I'm not interested in being "next in line."

You are also 20 years older than me, so I'm not sure why you chose to write to me. I could easily be your daughter, and I already have a wonderful father.

I hope you can find a group in which you feel comfortable revealing a little bit more about yourself before expecting them to talk with you privately, and then on another site, right off the bat.

If someone, anyone, is trying to manipulate you into talking to them, and most especially if it's without telling you or anyone else a single thing about themselves that can be verified by others, you do. not. have. to. accept it.

Go to a mod or at least someone you trust for help if it's making you feel uncomfortable.

NEVER be afraid to stand up for yourself.

(I wrote this post because I've had several young women on this site ask me what to do when an older man wants them to talk to him and won't take, "No, thank you," for an answer.)

And, don't let someone try to cast the blame on you and try to convince you that you did something wrong, because you didn't.

Preach it, sister:).

You’re absolutely right.

I ain’t thinking, whenever some random guy is sending me a pm or trying to befriend me, dropping some standard phrases in a manipulative tone, that he is such an awfully great guy I HAVE to get acquainted with:(.

Omigosh, I said the exact same thing to Seoulsearch in a reputation comment! "Preach it, sister!" :D

I'm also good at expressing myself by defending others from being bullied.

I want to address this, but I don't want to hijack this thread.

People have a misconception that racism ranges from denial of services to genocide.

Racism is in its core, simply a preference of one race over another.

A lot of research has been done on this. People generally prefer to associate with familiarity.

Nothing nefarious about it.
