A thread is really nothing much without its participants, so I thank you and the many others who have, and hopefully will, contribute to these discussions.

I am always interested in learning how generic advice has worked itself out in the lives of real people--the problems they encountered and how they coped or worked around them. I learn a lot, and it gives me some ideas of how to deal with things in a better way.

However, I'm thinking I should just hand over the reins to Zero and let him write the threads because his examples have been saying what I want to say in ways that are much shorter and easier to understand! :p

I've been told by my senior HS english teacher and by my business communications professor that I have a knack for writing... but it was my english teacher in high school who made me realize that my noggin was programmed slightly better for writing than most people's... :rolleyes:

But still I hate to read because books just bore me.. :p I don't even like reading long posts...

Seoul... I hope u dont really think I just read your titles... If u notice in my replies I often reference something that you mention towards the middle or end of your posts.. :rolleyes: Im psychic like that!

I enjoy reading your long posts. It's like reading a good book that you don't want to end. Well, in the case of a long post it would be a short story. Everyone has a story that is worth telling.

I have to tell though, that I'm known to have quite a temper (even my friends tell me that, lol)--I just try very hard not to let it slip out very often and things don't bother me as much as they used to.

Thank you though, for always wanting to believe the best in people. :)

Caring about what others think is natural because what people think and believe determines their attitudes, which influence their behavior. If people believe things about you that are false, their actions toward you (either directly or indirectly) will negatively impact your life, and nobody wants that, even if we all experience it to some degree. Caring about what goes on in other people's lives does not always equate to people being judgmental in a way that could be interpreted as condemning, either, although I may be too idealistic in this regard.

The fact of the matter, too, is that we are all judgmental to one degree or another. Wishing to escape that fact of life is a bit pointless, when we ourselves measure others against some yardstick of personal acceptability. Living in a manner that removes us from the justified censure of others, which is probably impossible since we cannot please all the people all the time, may be the best we can do. Still, it is what we are called to do as Christians, though again, none of us are perfect.

Whatever you write always makes a lot of sense and worth considering. It's almost like reading a Psalm or Proverb as there is almost always a spiritual element involved and something to be learned and applied in one's life. I believe that there are times that the Holy Spirit guides your fingers as you type. This is one of those times.

this all reminds me of a story lol. I think I've shared it before.

there was an engaged couple at church. it broke off. the girl started hanging out a lot with another guy from church. a few of us did not like that at all! first because the break up was recent. and 2) it broke off cuz she was seeing someone else. but at the same time, we didn't know if she and new dude were officially together. turned out they were trying to establish a relationship, but there was negative comments.

she eventually moved. i think that's what happens when a couple in church breaks up. one of them moves to another congregation.
