In the early church, the Jews that had accepted Jesus as the Son of God, could not understand that even Gentiles were called into service in the Kingdom of God. They struggled with the fact that God was impartial when it came to salvation, and even the Gentiles were able to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. For generations, before Jesus came to earth, they were made to believe that only the Israelite nation was qualified to be called God's own, special people.
Now, through the redemptive work of the cross, Jesus made a way for all men, from every nation and tribe, to know God and be filled and flooded with Himself. Paul emphasized that God enables and uses anyone who will open his heart to receive His Son, and wholeheartedly surrenders his life to His will. If you have ever felt unqualified for being in service to the kingdom of God, realize today that God is not a respecter of persons. Whoever responds to His call and devotes His life to loving Him and following His ways, will be used mightily for and by Him. Through Christ, every born-again believer has been equipped with all we will ever need to live as effective carriers and ministers of the Gospel. While we have a reverential fear for Him, and live in worshipful obedience to His voice and His way of living, our lives will be His vessels. The work His Spirit does within us, makes us ever ready and able for His power and goodness to be poured out for others.
