Ha ha ha, this is a great post :)
Personally, I like men who are all outdoorsy and lumberjack-ish, so I guess not many computer people fit into that category. Plus, I have this fear of my man coming home and going straight to the computer or t.v. and ignoring me completely. On the otherhand, intelligence and savvy are also attractive. Hmmm...I vote flannel wearing doctor :D

True true, I was just speaking for myself. One of my roomates just married a computer smarty-guy, so I know other people feel differently :)
I think my bias is based on how I grew up though ha ha, my dad kept the t.v. in the closet and the only game I ever played was Mario, so I wouldn't really be able to share that technological passion.

You are asking as if though all girls are the same. There are plenty of geeky girls out there too you know.

But I would think unless you are obsessed with it and talk about nothing else, any normal girl should have no problem with it. At least I would hope, since I am an engineer and love my techy stuff, and don't really care what girls think about that because I like it and thats all that matters. Am I obsessed? No. Do I love it? Yes.

You know, I'm talking about the type of guy that's good computers, likes video games, and programming, stuff like that.
I voted yes but let me explain why:

If your God given talent is with computors then thats great ie programming, website design etc.
If your seriously gifted, get off your butt and get a degree in design/IT whatever and use it in ministry.
BUT
Video games are stupid. When you go to face God, I can bet you many things he will not ask you what level you got on a certain game. When a woman is asked what masculine qualities she wants in a husband and father of her children, gamer and computor hermit is certainly not one of them.
My fiance is very gifted with computors, but I know (and have seen) that if I need him to do something or spend time with me in preference to the computor, he will stop whatever he is doing in favour of me. In return I respect that he enjoys designing websites and doing bible study on his computor and other useful things so I give him time for that.
NEVER allow a computor or video game be such an influence where you actually prefer it to being in fellowship with God and people. Otherwise your on very dangerous ground and your treating it like an idol so look at your motives and feelings to using such things.

This is just my own opinion, but I would have to disagree that video games are stupid. I actually find it relaxing to watch someone who's good at them play the games sometimes, and of course, I'd rather date guy who plays video games than does drugs or something like that. Sure, there has to be a balance, but if it doesn't take over someone's life, then why not? It's just a hobby. Some women watch TV shows like 90210 and Gossip Girls, which I happen to think are pretty mundane, but hey... to each their own.

And as I wrote before, my brother didn't complete his college degree but got a job at Microsoft as a programmer. He then moved on to writing programs that tested other people's program... and, as I also wrote, he now designs video games for X-box for a living.

And Microsoft pays him very well to do it, too. He is able to provide for his family to the point where my sis-in-law doesn't have to work and is a full-time, stay-at-home mom to their kids. Some women WANT to work, which is fine as well, but she likes being able to spend all her time with their kids and do a lot of volunteer work at their schools. Now admittedly, my brother isn't the most social person in the world, but that's because he spends any free time he has with his wife and kids. He's only 34 and they've been married 11 years, which is a lot longer than most people these days.

If I could find a good Christian guy who made a living off making video games and he was a complete person with a balanced life, you bet I'd at least take the time to get to know him!

I just wanted to clarify my last post, because some people will take that as, "Oh, Seoul is telling us that computer guys will have a lot of money and that's why we should give them a chance."

NO NO NO.

All I'm saying is, if he's a Christian and a good person, so what if computers and video games are his hobby? Keep an open mind and you never know what you'll find. And no, God might not care about what level He got to while playing Commando Alien Killers from Mars... but if the guy said, "Lord, I was able to provide for my family and send my kids to good Christian schools with the skills you gave me," I would imagine God would say, "Well done, my good and faithful computer geek guy!!!" :D

In my opinion, your brother falls into the category of 'gifted with technogy and used it to honourably support his family' Designing games is his job.
I was thinking of people who still live with their parents or cant hold a decent job cos gaming is more exciting that working and going to church and then whine as to why they cant get a girlfriend.
I just think people should be discerning in their usage of technology. Ive never own a video game console in my life, my fiance however knows I love trivia pursuit so he actually rented a game called Buzz and a PS2 for a night and I did enjoy it, but it doesnt make me want to buy one yet. I just think theres far more interesting and useful things to do than simulated football or shooting or whatever.
If I want to fight I'll take up a martial arts class, if I want to shoot I'll go to a rifle range and hit a target, if I want to play football I'll go outside and play it. Gamers just strike me as people who want to become talented at a fake activity because it doesnt require physical and mental training (the only byproduct I can think of is carpal tunnel syndrome in your thumbs and fingers)

Heh, there is a bit of a difference between being smart and being a nerd. Being smart is a character trait; being a nerd is a way of life. You can also be stupid and a nerd at the same time, it just isn't very common.

I think I used to be a nerd, but I'm not as much of one as I used to be. I used to be really into video games and was actually pretty addicted to them, but there are just some things that I've found really just have to go from my life if I'm really going to be living my life for Jesus like I should. I still play games, but not nearly as much (and when I'm actually in school, it's about once a month). I'm thinking that when I get married, I don't think I'm going to want video games in my home. If I marry someone who plays, then that would be different, but I just wouldn't want that to be something that could potentially causing relationship problems because I can't put the controller down. I really don't know; it's just a thought.

I'd also like to be able to avoid having a computer in my home once I'm out on my own, but I know that with the way the world is headed, that isn't really very practical. I'll need it for work and whatnot, probably.
