I semi-hacked another thread with this, so figured I'd make my own.

If I had to correlate Bible translations with Star Wars characters, here's how it look.

NASB - C3PO. Very technical and ridged, but mostly right on.

ESV - Yoda. Not wordy, but worded backwards at times. It's mostly right, but worded odd in certain places.

The Message - Jar Jar Binks - Kinda out there. You know what it's saying, but you wouldn't rely on it for something serious.

KJV - Obi Wan Kenobi. An old fossil but for some reason gets the job done for some still.

NIV - Han Solo. Simple to understand. Good in a time you need something simple but effective. Some have major issues with it though.

Hebrew and Greek - Either R2D2 or Chewbacca. Can't understand either without an education or translator.

Feel free to add on.

NKJV - Princess Leah. Diplomatic sounding, yet understandable to most. It appeases those looking for that traditional tone, but it's also modern enough to fly a space ship and fire a blaster.

I wish I knew enough translations to be able to add on to this, but I did a complete LOL at "The Messenger"--Jar Jar Binks. It's so true!!! I remember thinking, "If I have to read 'God-of-the-Angel-Armies' as a description for God one more time..."

I'm not even sure if I know all of the versions listed but... how about the Amplified? It explains every word with at least 5 other words... which is really good for the slow folk like myself.

I'm trying to think of a Star Wars character who explained everything way too many times and in so much detail that you only became more confused... (perhaps George Lucas himself?!)

Hmm the Amplified. Explains itself too much.........

I can't think of a character off the top of my head.

TNIV -R5-D4 - That's the droid who blows up before R2D2 gets purchased in Star Wars 4. The TNIV got discontinued and will be replaced by the NIV 2011. Lol.

My favorite varsion...

HCSB - qui gon jinn - It's a very good translation, most know it is, but for some reason it's not super popular and it's kinda mysterious to some.
