Phillipians 1:3-6 speaks about doing good work in our lives. I ask you, what good work are you doing for God inyour life right now. I personally work with the homeless daily in my life along with all the work that I do for fun and profit and wherever I go I have a phrase that my friends and family know well: The Lord leads. And, yes, I do my good work with that phase in mind.

Animal shelters have a soft spot in my heart. I work with them a lot.

And my fraternity works with St. Jude's hospital to raise money for these kids. It's heart breaking sometimes.

I feel a bit awkward responding to this, as I usually try to keep these things between myself and God. But we do need to be about the Father's business. I'm presently leading a womens Bible study on Weds nights and doing praise and worship for my church. There are other things, but, as I said, I'd like to keep those things private.

We are all part of the body of Christ, no matter how minor a part we think we may be. If we aren't active, there are ministries that aren't being done, people who aren't being served/edified/taught, and what about healing? And I don't mean just physical healing. Healing of the mind and spirit as well.

I would encourage all who read these posts to step out in faith re: a ministry that is on your heart, no matter how major or minor you may feel it to be. Remember, those who are least in this world are the greatest in HIS world. :) You count and so does your ministry, whatever it is. :)

Is this the same St. Jude's hospital where they specialize in research and caring for terminally ill children? If so, that is my favorite charity, and I hope to work there (the one here in southern california).

I just try and take it one day at a time and treat everyone I meet as a precious child of God and help them however God leads me to. I let God lead me one step at a time

YouTube - Step by Step - Rich Mullins

what ever good work is done, let it be to the glory of God our Heavenly Father. We love because He first loved us.

I think we might have to start calling you the youtube girl. :)

Just kidding! Youtube is fun. Lord knows I spend more time than I should there.

I've been busy doing the same thing that God put me into years ago...tech ministry. Sound, lights, video, etc...making all the praise-n-worship singers like Jullianna sound good, or failing that, making them loud.

I'm trying too get the youth and elders in my church envolved in building a club race car that the youth can race. In New Zealand you see alot of youth driving around with one of their mates names that died on the road printed on their cars back window. I always feel a pain in my heart when I see it. I want to try and encourage young guys to race on the race track and not the roads.

Yes, Julianna, to God (and He will gently, lovingly let you know if your ministry is to hard on you :) ), its important that we just let him lead our ministry, as I say 'The Lord leads,' and with whoever I am with, that phrase is put out there for all to hear, its like wearing a God mesage t-shirt, or putting on a God bumper sticker on your car, that phrase said often keeps God afront in my life. So maybe your ministry can be a zillion God bumper stickers on the nack of your car or whatever you pray to God for doing. Then, As Nike says, just do it. Smile. ZeroT? Your time now can be so great for God. NO job means more time to be with Him reading bible, going to singles/church groups, etc). Altho tough in life sometimes, no job is just the Lord leading you, testing you in some cases, zerot., testing u to draw closer to Him. Nukedpooch, great, a a/v guy, a great way to 'work' happiness and maybe even witness ti those helping/volunteering for you. Julianna, the purpose of my thread was to draw out personal nality from each of us, and ket God hear us say of our good works, like, lastly, Lailo, great, youth ministering, and, building a soap box derby car :)
Well, good all, and, yes, I have a warehouse and its in a area of drugs and homelessness and God's blessed me to be able to simply talk God to so many hurting people. God is so good, so keep on working on things like, fsuboy nursing others along :) , as doing good work will be a life God rewards, and, if you don't believe that, read Bruce Wilkinson's 3rd book in Prayer of Jabez chronicles, and, also, book 2 is a good 'good works' bok too, The Secret OfTheVine.

And, anadya, that's great, youtube, WHAT a medium to tell others about Christ, so easy, not to mention nonconfrontational. Social media sites can be G-r-reat places to do our good works. I think especially in today's times, that God is really opening up so many avenues to reach others because His time is drawing near to come back again and I think its said somewhere in scripture that He won't come again untilALL have chance toaccept Christ. So yeah, great your all ways of servingHim now, likJulianna, All you said about teaching Sunday school and working in your church that kind of work is so awesome. In fact, any work we do is GOOD if our heart is doing it for Him. The Enemy will go after you though for constantly doing good works so rember that verse Anadya said abiut Satan getting BEHIND us. U know that song 'He's under my feet, under my feet'? :)

Nuked, are you doing 'sound' ministry at your new church? The one you walked 5000 miles to get to, the Lord leading you every trample of the way, OH, that's right, my wrong, you only moved 600 miles. Have you read, 'Walk Across América"? :)

Of course I am. They heard I was coming... (Thanks, Mom!) Once a sound tech, ALWAYS a sound tech. They won't let you be anything else.

Yep, I own 'Walk', as well as most all of Peter Jenkins' books. I really, really like 'Looking For Alaska' the best...

Redmama, I'm sure your a huge blessing in their lives at program .

Nuked. I read Walk, too, a good ole story about a bearded man and his dog, showing those reading that book now a perfect Groupon strategy :)

Sounds great, that's good, sacrificial work, nuked, glad you don't run and hide with your great techy gift God's given you. I know sound work can be a lot of time and, well, yeah, work, you could be one tired puppy (or nuked pooch) after a long Sunday of doing that kind of work. At my church, you just may have started calling yourself 'wicked' because my church does THREE morning Sunday services (no rest for the wicked. Get it? :)
So...God will bless you , nuked, for all who follow His perfect will for their life get that treatment from God.
