I just thought I would throw this thread out there, let you all add to it, what helps you reach your goals. Who, too, helps you achieve them. God bless :)

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:26

My highest goal is to make it into Heaven.

But he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:13

I want to live a life that honors the Lord. I'm not sure where that's going to lead. He's surprised me in a couple of areas in recent years. I'm interested to see where that goes, but it's all up to Him. Whatever it is, I'm excited and up for it! :) The goals I had for myself when I was younger were so far below the plans God had that I don't even want to type them here. Every job/opportunity I've had has been a complete surprise gift from God. I doubt that He'll stop now!

I try not to set goals. That way I won't be disappointed when I never acheive anything.

That reminds me of an old quote I once read. It says "the one who wants nothing has everything". I thought it was from Confucious, but I'm not sure. Anyway its good to be content with what you have.

I am not saying this because I am in any need, for I have learned to be content in whatever situation I am in.
Philippians 4:11

But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1 Timothy 6:6

But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
1 Timothy 6:8

And this scripture is now one of my favorites...

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you
Hebrews 13:5

2 Timothy 4:6-8. "For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."

Help us finish the race, Lord. Not by might nor by power, but by your Spirit alone.

I have goals and I tend to plan... a lot. But I've realized that having a general outline is better than inspecting or scheduling every aspect of certain situations.

I am sure those that are content not making goals realize God gives us our own freewill to do that but be VERY sure contentedness is not with complacency, be sure if you have been given even so much as one 'talent' per scripture do not misuse it Or, if you know the parable in new testament of the talents , AH YES, WOE TO THOSE THAT UNUSED THEIR GOD-given talent. Sorry, perhaps a few too many caps, but ,then again, maybe not, for if you UNUSED the talent God's given you can rewd in the parable just how series God is regarding this subject. Scary-serious !
For me, I think about my goals are made in relation to my talents and in so doing that I pray for God the goal He wants me to reach and how to seek the answers for reaching them, whether God puts people or tjings in my path to attain them. I've reached many goals, some surprisingly, like you, Julianna, said, and some just seemed like God was going to give them to me for going for it, whether its merchandise purchase for my business or cleaning up my warehouse .

God is so good beside us in our goal-searching, go-setting, and goal-reaching, I see what you mean about finishing the race, Vinafera, that is good, but I am not speaking about finishing life time, but about your life NOW, you goals NOW, and who and what helps you reach them as God has set them before you. :)

My favorite verse for helping reach my goals is from chronicles, The Prayer Of Jabez. I YEARN FOR MY GOD TO ENLARGE MY TERRITORY. AND WHY DO I ASK THAT? SO I CAN DO MORE KINGDOM THINGS ON EARTH, DOING THINGS FOR GOD, GLORY BE TO GOD ! I Wii hasten to say that low morals and no goals don't keep you out of Heaven ,your life may be tut cuz of that way, boring, maybe AIDS, maybe pooling, not just boring. As someone too said, and, hope I'm not boring you, for I have only reason on cc and in life until God's finished it for me to abhor things that cause me to fall (and yes, I've fallen many times :-( v But I keep my eyes on prize of Christ Jesus , as Phillipians says, and, as that's Paul talking there , it has made ALL the difference in my life. :)

I know some of you are kidding, about goals of none and morals of smut, and, that's fine, just make sure you're listening to God , because He is, ultimately, our goal in life to please. Amen ?
Amen!

Good words said by you all. Goals are so important in life and really try hard to Hi after the ones God has set out for YOU and YOUR talents since the beginning of your born time on planet Earth. :)
Psalms 139

God gave me many talents and my goals are to use them all, and I will start as soon as I find a job. Until then I am trying to hide from the world.

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight

As a college student, yes i do have goals. All of them are listed on my diary planner. Im always aiming not for a passing grades but an excellent performance in our class. As a musician, worshiper of God and as one of the musical coordinators in our church, i always have a list of goals, all of them are not listed in a sheet of paper but listed in my mind heart and in prayers.
Setting goals is wise easy but accomplishing it is the main challenge, I can say it is hard. But one benefit of it is that, it will help you to really depend unto God. Because if you do not aim for something, i don't think you can achieve great things. At the same time, if you will not ask God for it, He will not answer.

so the verse that i attached simply means - Trust and depend God in doing all the desires of your heart, and He will lead you to the right way, He will help you achieve it in the right way according to His plans.

So here are my answers:

What helps you reach your goals?
- being firm in my goals, giving my best to reach them and trust & dependence on God

Who helps me reach them?
- When I was young I thought I reached somthing because of my own effort. Not anymore, my answer is ONLY GOD,, coz I admit; I cannot do anything without Him.

Do not trust to hold God's hand; let Him hold yours. Let Him do the holding and you the trusting! :D
