Well, the Bible is clear about marriage and Divorce. It is clear that God hates divorce. As christian singles who desire to get married, whats your take on divorce?

My take is: don't want to get divorced? don't get married.

Does that mean that all marriages must end up in divorce?

Hmmm..if we enter marriage thinking of divorce as an option, we need to re-think the whole thing.

We need to look at anyone we consider marrying and ask the important question so that when you commit you are certain of your foundation and are sure that they are willing to fight for the marriage too. You also need to remember that you are imperfect and they are imperfect so don't be surprise if difficulties come along, but make sure you are willing to fight for the marriage.

Julliana and Meriodoc, great stuff. Knowing that you are marrying a human being who is bound to err reduces the chances of you being disappointed. But not so many people are willing to fight for their marriages till death do them part. But then, asking questions and knowing the person before marriying them...good stuff.

human beings err and i think most of us know the statsitics on divorce in christian marriages is really no different to those who are non christian,
that is not to say it is what God wants , and god is the master at healing broken marriages, but sadly there are times when divorce ends up being the only option because it cannott be repaired, , i beleive there are cases involving phsical and emotional abuse where the only choice for the persons safety is to seperate or divorce. im not saying it should be a solution i beleive god can change things but like i say sometimes there is no other solution if both parties are not in agreement at reconciliation and change to rebuild ..

We don't get married w/ the intention of getting divorced .. We think we are married to the person we Thought we would be married to the end... but things Happen .. Not saying I wouldn't of liked to have been married to the end... but other's think it is greener on the other side!

That's just the thing..if we truly love someone, we love them even when they err, just as Christ loves us. Once that's understood, the loving intimacy that is marriage only deepens.
