I like that one there said in the title of my thread , kind of summer campy tho, but a praise and worship song nonetheless I like.

I have many, many more songs that I could spat out, but I'm not going to spit them just yet. :) So, c'mon, get on your maranatha music shoes on and start jogging' that brain of yours. YOU ARE ALL I NEED to get this thread hopping', going hopping , hopping along , red, red, robin a-bobbin' along, what worship songs make you thirst for more like drinking a warm katina, sorry, I means to say, warm canteen of peach schnappes, I mean, ugh! , brain don't fail me now, , I mean, warm canteen of peach pop tarts having soaked a long time in hot milk, on such a cold spring day when all the leaves are brown ;)

This is a love song, this is a love song, to you, (Lord). Not sure who sings it, but we sang it in church singles among other great worship songs, like

We lift our hands up and sing, for the joy of the Lord is our strength. We bow down and worship Him now, how great and mighty is He.
Everyone Si-nggg, EVERYONE SING. Again, not sure who sings it.

And, this is a song we sang a few years back of a summer church singles retreat I went to. This song was so powerful. A little background for ya.... There were some at the retreat that had been in the singles group together 3-4 years as friends , then others like myself were young bucs and does coming into the singles scene . I was 23 when I went on this retreat and we sang a lot of good worship songs but this one was led by the outgoing singles pastor (both the incoming singles pastor and outgoing pastor were at this retreat).

Anyway, the song we sang was so powerful as it was one of the last songs sung as I remember of this 2-night retreat and we sang this song in rounds with boys singing one part and girls singing other and then next one half singing starting off song then other half. And we had like 100 people at this retreat and we really resounded the sound in the little chapel area, singing....

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord our God.
Glory, glory, glory to His matchless name.
Worthy, worthy, worthy is the lamb, that was slain, that was slain.

The harmony of that song and the tears that flowed at that time from those sad to see yheir longtime singles pastor going on was an amazing thing to behold. What a song ! What a retreat I will never forget because of that and the good sermons and fellowship. :)

I don't know if it is a worship song, but my favorite song is Too Small a Price, by Don Francisco.

I like 'No matter what' by Kerrie Roberts.

Its a stubbornly defiant song to not give up hope of Gods promises regardless of happiness or pain. I love it.

The Sunday after the major earthquake occurred here in Christchurchm NZ, our church sung our full national anthem for the first time ever.
This was a major thing for all of us because compared to Americans or British, we don't like singing ours. Here in New Zealand theres a thing called tall poppy syndrome, where we don't encourage pride, boastfulness, skiting etc even in our country. It sounds harsh I know (and I think people who sing their national anthem are cool), but we're a country of people who would rather let our actions speak than our words.
Anyway when we sang this song it meant a lot for us as a christian community grieving along with the rest of the city and that we had been complacent in the fact that we had gone along with the rest of our secular athiest countrymen in not bothering to sing it anymore. While singing it we realised it wasnt some weird colonialist rant written by a pompous Brit (as we all claim it to be) but a wonderfully sincere worship song written by a British settler who moved here and genuinely loved NZ so much, they never left. Besides, as much as we dislike being in the Commonwealth, we all know someone with a Scottish or English grandparent/great grandparent

God of nations! at Thy feet, In the bonds of love we meet, Hear our voices, we entreat, God defend our Free Land. Guard Pacific's triple star, From the shafts of strife and war, Make her praises heard afar, God defend New Zealand.

Men of ev'ry creed and race, Gather here before Thy face, Asking Thee to bless this place, God defend our free land, From dissension, envy, hate, And corruption guard our State, Make our country good and great, God defend New Zealand

Peace, not war, shall be our boast, But should our foes assail our coast, Make us then a mighty host, God defend our free land, Lord of battles, in Thy might, Put our enemies to flight, Let our cause be just and right, God defend New Zealand

Let our love for Thee increase, May Thy blessings never cease, Give us plenty, give us peace, God defend our free land, From dishonour and from shame, Guard our country's spotless name, Crown her with immortal fame, God defend New Zealand

May our mountains ever be, Freedom's ramparts on the sea, Make us faithful unto Thee, God defend our free land, Guide her in the nations' van, Preaching love and truth to man, Working out Thy Glorious plan, God defend New Zealand

KiwiOverTime?

If I came into a singles group or even my church, and, please, no offense or unNZpatriotism here, but if I came up and led that song prior to pastor's sermon...they might just pik me up and throw me out on my ear :)

Seriously, that is a good song but as a lead-in to our pastor's sermon, it would be quité an interesting worship song. Now our church does have a special servicio 4th of July, honoring our local government and local military, so, that song fits then.,:

Reik, good song picks, I. Like all those but one and thats only cuz I don't remember hearing it,:)

Another fave P&R song from me?

Sure. Uh, maybe, no, wait, no....

Yes, Lord, yes, Lord, Yes-Yes-Lord, amen.

Im trading my sorrow...for the joy of the Lord. Im saying Yes, Lord......amen. :)
