hi all, i was just wondering..... why are christians are considered single unless they are married or engaged? every wedding i have been to, when they toss the bouquet, they want everyone who is single (even if they are currenty in a relationship), to catch it. anyone know why that is?

you get to watch the girls in relationships who want their guy to ask the question fight the girls who just want a nice guy that they could consider marrying for the flowers. >_< MWAHAHAHAHA

They do it to make the dates of the women who are presently in relationships VERY NERVOUS :) I usually feel the need to find the bathroom right about then. ;)

I think it has to do with two people becoming one within a marriage. When you are married, you are no longer your own person - single; you are one with another. Until then, you are two separate people who just so happen to be in a relationship with each other. You're not part of an equation, you're just a variable.

Anyway, that's how I see it.

I dunno, I ALWAYS catch the garter. My competitiveness demands it. The rest is just a silly superstition.

Well I've been to a few weddings... everytime they tell the girls to gather around. I am either sitting down, or standing up off in a distance away from the group of screaming girls :D But to answer your question, its just a tradition..

Diving for a bouquet in a dress and heels is pretty risky business, right, ladies? haha
You see some pretty freaky videos out there of bouquet free for alls :)

I was @ a wedding once where all these women were so stoked to dive for the bouquet etc....and after all their hard work to get what they thought was the perfect spot etc.....the bouquet landed in someones lap, about 3 tables off the dance floor! lol

(I personally am like Jullianna...I feel the need to have to find the powder room right before the bouquet tossing takes place.) ;)

Personally, I think most all of the 'traditions' of a wedding are absurd. I've only been to two (and a half) weddings, and both times I split after a half-hour or so into the reception... I'm really not a fan of parties.

i think that because in the bible it say that a husband and is wife are one so i think dat they consider christian single even if they hav some one and r not married it is because they hav not get their other half or become officially bond with their other half

marzipan....you're making me miss Europe now. :) They don't have it in the States much. I don't like the taste, but they make such beautiful things with it. :)

The buttercream frosting on wedding cakes is about the only time I do eating frosting. Most of the time I flip the cake over and just eat the cake part if it's not wedding cake. :)

LOL grace: Wouldn't you love to see Nuke do the chicken dance? :)
